Sorting week in the B1G

There are already 3 threads on Huskerboard with all of their bowl "scenarios."
Right now on the 1st page, there's one stating they are on track to become bowl eligible and tracking the other schools that aren't bowl eligible with a higher APR, to see if they could make it as a 5-win team.

Also on the 1st page is a thread, "Will we beat Bethune-Cookman?"

Delusion + Stupidity = Nebraska

Help a brother out with this reference.

I'm assuming this is something from Goosebumps or Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings or some shit?

Harry Potter's school has 4 houses. Gryffindor is for the brave and good. Ravenclaw is for the smart. Hufflepuff is for the weak but loyal. Slytherin is for the ambitious and great. Slytherin is basically the bullies.

In the books, a sorting ceremony chooses houses for the students. Hence, bullies of the Big Ten are back, or Iowa is eliminated from possible greatness.

You need to get some kids in your life @Fryowa! You too @MelroseHawkins!

My kid is 12; is that old enough or too old?

He's not one for TV or books though, he's usually outside destroying all of his clothes/shoes somehow, or fishing, or playing whatever sport happens to be in season.

I'm fine with the TV thing, but I wish he'd read more. He's a math/science kid vs a reader, and the reading he does do is mostly school-enforced.

Ok switching gears. Where will you be watching the game? Until last night I didn't think I would be. We play basketball in the Dells tomorrow at 9, 11 and 1:00. It's a two hour drive home, plus probably eating somewhere. I was set to catch a Sirius channel.

Major breakthrough last night. Local high school volleyball team won, on to sectional final Saturday night. They will be playing in Mazomanie (Wisconsin Heights). That's halfway between the Dells and home. Furthermore, Rookies Sports Bar, owned by Unknown Badger's Shoe Box buddy Steve Schmitt, is nearby. Big Cuba City hangout when teams play up there. We should be pulling into Rookies just about the time the Penn State game hits the air and be able to watch in it's entirety, because volleyball game doesn't start until 7:00. Go Hawkeyes and Cuba City volleyball!

It feels like all or nothing. Run the table to the CFP or it is the Holiday Bowl(with fill in the blank Pac-12 school). It doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

That's perfect age to start these books, though if he's more science and rough and tumble oriented, he'd like Ender's Game better. Call it Courage and Hatchet were books I got into at 12, too.

Pegged, I do data analytics as a job, had a failed robotics startup for about 4 years, and hold a software patent. I have more computers than televisions.

My daughter loves HP, and reading those beats another night of watching the Descendants 2; The Hobbit and LOTR are next.

This weekend will be an interesting one, lots of "toss up" games. The standings will start falling into place, bowl game hopes for the middle/lower tier teams will wither or get a renewed bounce. Rutgers gets a reprieve from weekly humiliation.

Iowa @ PSU
Wisconsin @ NW
Purdue @ MSU

Indiana @Minnesota
Illinois @ Maryland

Prepare for Nebby fans to start showing up claiming "they're on a winning streak".

Oh perfect storm of Iowa pulling the upset although they are evenly ranked, Wisky and Purdue losing to set up another big showdown next week of Iowa at Purdue.

if hawks stub their toe then it is start winning to stay in the race and for a very good bowl
