Sorry if this has been asked? chances of game day for Penn State be Iowa?

Folks have been speculating that given Fox’s show being at Kinnick Game Day wouldn’t come, but it’s getting harder for them not to with Arkansas, Ole Miss, and A&M all losing. Auburn losing would leave Alabama A&M and Arkansas Ole Miss as potentially the only other ranked matchups. PSU Iowa seems the obvious choice to me.

i was thinking Oklahoma vs Texas might be the only game(besides iowa/penn state) “the red river shootout” or what ever it’s called. Hope you are correct as i can see both Iowa and Penn State moving up 1 spot in the polls. #3 vs #4!! Yes please!!!

Good point, those teams are so bad/irrelevant that I completely forgot they are playing. Watch for Texas to break into the Top 25 tomorrow so they can hype that game.

Given that this is going to be a meeting of two top 5 teams, it would surprise me if Gameday wasn't in Iowa City this weekend.

Fox is having their kickoff show in Iowa City this week. Don't know if that would affect what ESPN or not but could be a factor in them going elsewhere.

Looks like they were both in Columbus back in 2019, no idea of other meetings, but it's not as if it has never happened. That said, between the Red River Shootout and multiple SEC matchups, it's not as if they have no other games to choose from, though Iowa City is the obvious choice.

Edit: Did my homework, they have only met on November 23, 2019, Penn State vs. Ohio State in Columbus.

Gotta be the FOX factor. GameDay isn’t as big of a deal anymore. I’d rather watch the Wolf Bro’s. Chili and Rotel’s commercials on loop like early BTN
Could be. Wasn't Wisky and ND on Fox 2 weeks ago and on both Gameday and the Fox show? Honestly don't pay much attention to pregame shows. Just remember seeing pictures of signs.

The 'inside politics' guess I have at why ESPN is going to Dallas is that since OU and TX are going to the SEC and ESPN had some behind the scenes influence with all that is mostly why. They want to hype up those two as much as possible going forward. I think they also are shrewd enough to realize most will just shrug it off as since Big Noon is going to be there already that they'd think that's why. Even though they've both done the same locations before just recently in Chicago....

Their loss though good luck putting lipstick on that game. Texas is still down and OU sure isn't setting the world on fire. All but one of their games so far have been won by 1 possession. Rattler is so overrated I pity the NFL team that takes him high in the draft..
