Some scheduling things to be aware of....

1. Wisconsin is tied with us in the loss column. If the teams were seeded right now based on the B1G seeding model, Wisconsin finishes up with the 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 seeded teams and we finish up with the 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 seeded teams. In other words, our finishing schedule is much more difficult than theirs.

2. However, in our favor, we play 5 games over the next 21 days. PSU, on the other hand, starting with the game at Indiana on Feb 23rd, plays 5 games in 13 days, with 3 of them on the road.

3. Rutgers has 5 games left, with 3 of them on the road, and a back-to-back-to-back of @Wisc, @PSU, home Maryland.

4. MSU has 5 games left, with 3 of them on the road, and a back-to-back-to-back of home Iowa, @Maryland, and @PSU in the span of 7 days.

5. Illinois, while they still have 3 roadies left, gets Nebraska and NW both in their 5 game closing stretch plus a home game against Indiana.....along with Wisky, they have the easiest road left.

Just food for thought as we hit the home stretch.....

I’d be okay with 11-9 at this point however we get there. Hopefully go 2-1 at home and then most likely drop the two road games. Anything above that would be gravy.

As I’ve echo’d before I’m not overly concerned with whether that means double bye or not.

When’s the last time we went undefeated at home in conference play? I really want those home games.

Maybe not, but we need to keep fighting for every win we can. Not saying this would happen but, even now, there is very little separating the current 3 seed (Iowa) from the current 12 seed (Indiana). As competitive as this league is this year, a double bye would be huge in so many ways.

You probably have to go back to 1970 when we went undefeated on the road in conference play as well. Even Mr. Davis's famous 30-5 team lost two conference home games.

The 2015 team was undefeated until the last 2 games. They lost them both. If they win them both, they share a conference championship with Indiana. Those were the only 2 home games I attended. The only 2 football games I attended that year were the championship game and the rose bowl. Pretty awesome.

I think the big ten is gonna go off in the NCAA tournament. A bunch of really good teams beating up on each other all year. The rest of the league isn't gonna know what hit it

Your conceding defeat to Purdue?? No way. Iowa is getting two more wins, maybe 3.
I think we win out at home with or without CJ. With CJ I think we now have a chance on the the two road games. MSU is struggling, and I think Illinois is suddenly vulnerable as well. I wouldn't put it past this team to win one of them.

Yep. They went 8-0 at home that season back when the conference had 16 game schedule.

And it started so well for Steve......Whipping up on the defending national champs UConn.............I see us winning every home game. We had PSU and should have beat them in the palestra, we will get them here where we shoot exponentially better than at that barn. Losing to OSU or Purdue, with home cooking I dont see that happening either.
