Regarding the womens NCAA tournament:
Iowa State is a 4 seed. Iowa is an 8 seed. UNI is a 16 seed. That means all three teams will have played the 1 seed in the first, second or third round (assuming Iowa and Iowa State keep winning).
Odd Men Out:
Correction: The Iowa and Iowa State men's basketball team are odd men out regarding the three state institutions men's and women's basketball teams being invited to the Big Dance. Only UNI has both their men and women teams in the NCAA tournaments which is an interesting turn of events.
My regrets about the misinformation prior to the edit.
