So why didn't KF use CJB against Maryland?

Was CJB injured? Neither before the game, during warmups, or during the game was CJB declared ineligible for any reason. No. He was eligible for the game. Plus he was dressed, so KF must have decided, IMO, if H froze over he might play him.

Why didn't KF play CJB? Didn't he want to win the game? That's the first question that comes to my mind. Obviously there is no QB controversy in KF's mind... There sure is one in the OC's mind.

He should have. Jake was not playing well. Absolutely should have went to jake to try to get a spark/change the momentum. Do I buy into the golden Jesus mentality? No. By was jake doing nothing for us? Yes. Did we need to try something different? Yes.

There is nothing about Kirk that would allow him to put CJ into a game where we didn't have a big lead. I honestly think he had every intention to play CJ. Just like he did against UNI. He learned his lesson after that and got CJ in the second series against Ball St before things could get bad. I'm sure he wanted to against ISU but never had a chance. If Rudock would have played terrible against Indiana, CJ would have never seen the field because we would have never had a lead. How backwards thinking is that?

that's A question a lot of us would like to know. But when you start with KF didn't want to win the game know one takes you series

Because he's a garbage head coach. There are a lot of other adjectives to further explain, but at the end it results in him being garbage on Saturdays. It's that simple.

So, you're saying KF's foible is he didn't have an adequate backup at QB? That's just as much incompetence. What if Rudock had been injured? Re injured?

All ferentz had to say after game was cj was dinged up and was only going go play if rudock got hurt. But he didn't do that so who knows with is going on

Because he has a personal vendetta against me. His contempt runs so deep that he resorts to self-destructive decisions, that border on pure lunacy, without regard for consequence, just to quench his insatiable spite of denying me the joy of Hawkeye fandom.

I'm sorry that all Hawk fans have been suffering for the past several years but, if any consolation, you are merely collateral damage. Let's hope it ends, soon.

KF didn't play CJ because he didn't want to. All our posting, questions will be answered the same way. Jake gave us the best chance to win. Time to move on. There's no reason for us to keep beating our heads against the wall when we know there is no answer forthcoming.

And as long as Ferentz is coach, Iowa will continue to lose to the likes of ISU, Central Mich., N. Illinois, Western Michigan, etc.

If you watch Iowa's last TD drive against Indiana you can see CJ was limping around quite a bit late in that drive. Looked like a lower back thing the way he was moving. Whether or not that caused him to miss some practice or not, we'll probably never know. Even if Kirk wanted him to play, if that injury did limit him in practice, its highly unlikely Kirk would ever put him in. Kirk just doesn't play guys who miss practice.

Regardless of CJ's health, I wasn't expecting to see him against Maryland anyway unless Rudock himself got hurt.

Davis called zero running plays in the 4th quarter, even though Jake was struggling.

I think Davis was trying to show KF that Jake isn't the guy.

It is a head scratcher... Especially when the post game comments aired on Soundoff included Kirk saying CJ could have played. It's tough watching Indiana and Maryland run all over us and the. Watch our offense fizzle as Jake throws the ball 56 times. That is not Iowa football and that is why we are this far into the season and we still have no identity.

CJ certainly was able to play Saturday and even Ferentz said so in his post-game presser. Rudock isn't 100% either so it's baffling why Ferentz didn't put CJ in. Even if CJ was dinged up in practice earlier in the week he was able to play.
