So who's having the worst Sunday...

Obviously both of those dudes are dead men walking. Just a matter of when will ADs rip off the band aids. I don't think it matters besides appeasing fanbases and getting a jump start on looking for a new coach. ADs could just start looking now behind the scenes without firing them yet. So I don't know I'm not paying either buyout easy for me to say fire em now. But if that wasn't a factor they'd both have been fired before the post game press conferences.

Two different programs with two different expectations.

PSU expectations are they should be elite. They have OSU-itus. Failure to achieve that level and you're done. They're not elite.

Bucky is Iowa. Be competitive. Enjoy bowl wins. Playoffs are a rare dream. Just don't suck. They suck.

The only reason either guy gets fired midseason is if you have a guy in mind to hire you want to get a jump on.

You can’t even say it hurts recruiting these days because it’s all money now.

All this talk about Fickell and Franklin.
Can we stop for a moment and flip the script? Talk about Parker (again) and Woods? About how those two people singlehandedly prevented us from reaching the total depth of despair they are feeling in Madison? I mean, I know we got upset...and frustrated over the last 5+ years. But we also saw a lot of wins and even the rare sniff at the conference championship game. And the only team who outright drubbed the Hawks would be OSU.

Also, let's maybe add ISU fans to the mix of who's having a bad Sunday. I mean, according to them...they have risen and relegated Iowa to insignificant status.

I mean, I guess I have to admit that if the opposing team's fans rush the field that does mean you have some panache? But then again, this is the same school who retired the number of a guy who's record was 13-12. For reference, Petras was 20-11 for Iowa. By Colorado standards, we should be renaming Kinnick to Petras Stadium.

Franklin’s seat is way hotter than Fickell. Franklin was expected to contend for a title this season and had two bad loses in a row to two bad teams. Both will be gone by the end of the season.

Who woulda thought preseason #2 Penn St would visit Iowa next Saturday as an underdog and on a 3 game losing streak!
I’d be surprised if they were dogs coming into next week. The only thing that may cause it is losing their QB, but this game is going to be just as tough as it was the first week of the season. This game is going to be the most important one of Franklin’s career and yes, that includes playoff games. One thing I’ve learned being a college football fan for 40+ years is hype and expectations are really, really stupid things.
