Just because we lost doesn't mean they have the best defense in the country. Louisville gives up the fewest points per game.

We knew this team was still fairly young (not as young as last year; but still young) coming into this season. Now you are realizing this and are mad as can be about it. Derpy derp?

I am not mad about the team at all. I will not use injuries as an excuse, though. All teams have them. If any kind of quality depth is a problem, that falls on the head coach.
I think Iowa has the talent to win. I am not sure anymore if we have the head coach who can lead them to those wins.

What are you talking about?

Lynch was NIU's leading rusher last year with 1815 yards. He played against Iowa this year.

Cameron Stingily is NIU's leading rusher so far this year and he carried the ball 12 times against Iowa this year.

Some people are passionate about Iowa football. Some of us obviously have higher expectations than others. I wish I could go to games, laugh, giggle and get drunk, and not really care whether Iowa wins or loses. I can't do it.

That's what we did in the 70s before Hayden. One thin I noticed last week in my first Iowa game since 2010, was the seeming lack of enthusiasm outside the stadium prior to the game. Not any "gimmie an I!" cheers or anything. It was OK inside though.

I agree that pre-1979 the Iowa football experience was more care-free. We wanted to win badly, but we did not expect it, nor did we feel were owed victory every week. I was a die-hard from childhood on, so it always ruined my day, but not the whole week like it does for some now. I remember the wins more back then as they stuck out more...like beating Wisky 45-28 in like 1976....we ran on that old astro turf like a bunch of wild Indians...we were also high as a kite. It was a memorable game, even tho it might have been one of 2-3 wins the whole season. Some fans seem so grumbly these days, you wonder if they do enjoy the 4 wins we have this year.

It is really hard to discuss Iowa football right now without discussing Ferentz. Does he get a free pass? He is paid as if he is one of the top college football coaches in the country. His performance the past few years is anything but. I guess he should be thankful that most Iowa fans have such low expectations. He would no longer have a job at most of the "football" schools in the country.
 
blubber, I dont have a problem discussing KF. I dont agree with everything he does. But discussing within the context of the game as some do is a lot different than people who just take shots at him. It just gets old and seems very small sometimes.

You're right, KF is awesome. Even though we see the same coaching mistakes over and over and over and over, we should remain positive about him and his coaching style. It's awesome. I can't understand why we would ever have anything to complain about. I mean sure we gave up a few fake punts and seem to get totally out coached in several games, but let's stay positive! There is a chance we get to 6-6 this year. Yeah baby! Awesome.
