So much for Crawford...

Drew's a nice player. He had a bad game. Taking joy in his bad game doesn't make me feel better about Iowa's predictamet. I'm glad we won. This was a big win.

Eric forced him to have a bad game. That's where I am going with it.

Speaks volumes again of May.

All of Iowa's problems did not go away tonight. It was great to see them play well and I hope they can continue it.

Hmm...I guess I didn't realize Crawford was even active tonight.

;)

Carmody was ****** at him a lot tonight because he took a lot of gambles that ended up being corner 3's for Iowa. I expected more from him, but damn Eric May can get in your grill.

Some people really know how to give a compliment ;).

Nobody is claiming that our problems are solved just noticing that Eric May did a very good job against a guy who most claim is the best freshman in the Big Ten. Kudos to May, a piece in a huge puzzle to get Iowa back to respectability.

Yeah. My response was to the post who said Crawford had a bad game. The Hawks (and specifically, certain players) do not usually get credit when someone has a bad game against them. It's usually the other team (or player) plays bad.

I also don't want to get too positive after a win. :)

yes, Eric made him disapear tonite. I have watched most of the Cat league games and some non-conf like the ND and ISU games and this is definitely the worst game that Crawford has had as a Cat...and I credit May for that. They are pretty similar players actually...NW fans are saying that Drew needs to work on his ball handling..sound familiar? They are both very good athletes, who can shoot the three, stong and good defenders...but tonite, Eric took round 1 with his defense...hopefully he can follow up in Evanston, but I bet Crawford will be looking for payback in that game..should be fun matchup the next 3 years.

The refs let quite a bit of physical play tonight which I think swings the advantage to May so let's hope for more of the same in Evanston so Eric doesn't run into foul trouble.

I have noticed that it seems like Big Ten officials really change the way they call a game based on the home team's style of play. I think that fact is as much responsible for home team dominance within the Big Ten as anything else. I happen to be one who thinks that fan involvement plays a huge role...I'd say both are about equal.

I remember watching the 2005 team and it seemed like the referees called the games pretty close in Iowa City that year (probably errored on the side of calling it too close)..as opposed to when we went to East Lansing and they looked the other way whenever possible.

I posted my conspiracy theory video elsewhere...so I'll just say that yes I'm aware that I am probably coming across as a nutjob...I'm alright with that. I've heard other people try to claim that the refs are the same regardless of the court and that familiarity with the gym makes a huge difference...well...if I could find the video of Gene Hackman measuring the height of the rim on Hoosiers...I'd post it.
