So let me get this right.... Robinson

is eligible to play but his coach is keeping him out of the bowl game for "not living up to team expectations and policies", but OSU has 5 guys getting suspended and it is ok for them to play in their bowl game. I am very glad we have a coach like KF. Rules are more important than team. Novel idea.

It's the NCAA that is allowing the Buckeye Five to play in the Sugar Bowl; it's Ferentz's decision to hold Robinson out of the Insight.

I think the OP is suggesting that since what the players did is viewed as so egregious by the NCAA that a five-game suspension is warranted shouldn't Tressel also hold those guys out of the bowl game.

Funny that the NCAA sees it as such a major violation to give them 5 games next year, but at the same time doesn't see it as serious enough to sit them for a BCS game that is being played the season they were caught. Love how the NCAA determines that nonconference games are worth sitting, but let's let them play in games that really matter. Way to drive the point across NCAA.

Just a thought, but could this 5 game suspension and missing almost half the season, have TP entering the draft even though he already declared himself staying? I find it doubtful, but who knows what a looming suspension would do to a player of his status and ego. Any thoughts?

Can't quite wrap my head around the NCCA's decision to let these guys play for a bowl game but bench them for five games against St. Mary's for the Blind next year.

Buck fans go on and on about the quality of their coach. It's enough that I was wondering if I should reconsider my stance on him. My guess is these guys will play in the Sugar and I can go to sleep knowing I was right all along about Tressel.

I think the NCAA put Tressel in a tough position. He's in a no win situation. If he sits these players for a BCS bowl game in which they are not ruled inelgible for by the NCAA he upsets the Buckeye fans. If he doesn't sit them, he is ridiculed by fans across the nation.

It's pretty easy to figure out. Look who fOSU plays in their 6th game next year. The NCAA just needs to pack up their belongings and end this charade.

The NFL begs to differ.

A Rob shouldn't be playing anyway after suffering two concussions.

I'm confused, is Ferentz coaching in the NFL? Last time I checked there have been a bunch of HC positions that have come open over the past 10 yrs and yet Ferentz is still at Iowa. Just because some mouthpiece (his agent) says he is being considered for jobs doesn't make it so.

Ferentz was in the NFL for only 6 yrs during his 33 yr coaching career. During those yrs he was an OLine coach, not a coordinator of any kind. From 93-95 (Browns) they went 23-25, from 96-98 (Ravens) they went 16-31. Both losing records for you mathematically challenged on the board.

I know the above makes me sound like a hater on Ferentz - which I'm not - but let's get real here people. He is a top 5 paid HC in college football and yet we never seem to finish in the top 5. Whats wrong with this picture?

It's all about the money.. no one would watch the bowl game of they didn't play, and game and fans may cancel their trip...
