So how bad do Hawks beat Wisconsin on Sun?

I'd be presently surprised if Iowa would win....when you add things up...1) Wisconsin's really good. 2) They're a lot better at home. 3) They are playing against a guy who left the team...4) Iowa will be playing only its 4th game in 22 or 23 days. That's a junior high basketball schedule. I know its a product of the Bahamas, but it kills any kind of momentum. I expect us to have great defensive night....just hope we can get into the flow and score some points.

Wisconsin absolutely dominated NW on the road. NW might not win a single B1G game this year, but any road win like that is impressive. To anyone underestimating Wisconsin is in for a surprise on Sunday, this is going to be a battle.

Wisconsin is favored by 10 and a half points. Stranger things have happened though. I guess people will see how good their new coach is.

Wow... I'm not confident we win but I am confident we hold it within 10.

10 is a lot of points in a wiscy game if they slow it down like I anticipate.

Edit: I'm an idiot, you are referring to the spread of their game against NW.

Activevadger is running his mouth over on HI these days. Same old crap.

Love to predict a victory this Sunday. I'm hoping after the Peckers lose, the Cheesheads will arrive sedated and maudlin. Would love to add to their misery, but I think Bucky wins another close one. Different story in Carver.

I just have a feeling Uthoff will go one of two ways. 1) he goes off for a big game or 2) he presses and struggles in a very hostile environment.

I say he goes off to have a good night, enough to win at Wis for karma's sake since Bo was a bo-hole on restricting him to so many schools and such.

Woody and Gabe have to have a good game though to contain their inside game although they run more and not as tough inside this year. Uthoff should come in sooner too I think to get settle down. I hope Oglesby and Gesell are on in addition to Whitey, Dev, Basabe, and McCabe. Last, I want some scrub time, which means IA is blowing them out. Never mind, I settle for a 1-pt win in regulation. Go Hawks!

I think we can stop them inside, the problem might be their three point shooting. Also if we stop Decker, we win. Going to be an interesting game. We play them well every game in the Fran era, so we can beat them. However I would not be surprised if we lose a close one. If we make over 70% of our free throws that will certainly help us emerge with a victory.....

Whatever defense we were playing on Gallegos Tuesday to shut him down would come in very handy Sunday against Decker. I know we aren't going to hold him scoreless but if he's in the 10 point range it's a very bad sign for Wisconsin IMO.

I didn't see this until just now. Of course the game has already been played but if I were in Vegas yesterday I would have made a nice sized bet on Wisconsin. I can't imagine how that line was only 10.5.

I'm quoting you because you make some valid points. Here are some counter points.

1 - Iowa is really good.
2 - Iowa doesn't seem to struggle in the Kohl Center under Fran.
3 - Uthoff is playing against the guy that made him pay for a year of college and is an a**.
4 - The Nebraska game should have gotten the guys attention and have them back in form.

Bonus point - Wisconsin is a donut team. They have a hole in the middle and can't match up with our inside guys.

Edit - Iowa had 2 extra days to prepare...definitely makes a difference IMO.

Feeling more and more like a big win for Iowa. We do well on the road... they suck.

Based on what 'road' record do we play well on the road? We've played a grand total of 4 away games...and lost 2 of them. Based on that dominance, we have about a coin-flip chance of winning at Wisconsin.

Gonna stick with my prediction of a VERY close win for Iowa - but don't pretend this is gonna be easy or that we're a good road team. Team has to prove it first.

He was referring to the Wisconsin vs northwestern game. Iowa is not a 10 point underdog to Wisconsin.

It has been a struggle for Iowa to close out victories in games such as this one. There has to come a time for this team to "get over the hump". I have no doubts we will either be ahead late in this game or trail by just a few points. It comes down to somebody making clutch free throws and making a clutch shot for once. We have a knack for playing well in every game, then getting soft on defense allowing good teams to come back while we miss shots, free throws and commit silly turnovers. For this team to take the next step under Fran and prove we are back..we need to close out a game like this down the stretch for confidence. I'm assuming we will be at a point to take that step Sunday night..it's just a matter of can we make it happen. We will see

With how they played their last game I would be happy if they kept it to less than a 10pt loss.

Dude, they were playing Northwestern. If there's a gimme game in the conference this year, it'd be Northwestern. They're terrible.
