SMU hikes up its skirt, openly flirts with Big 12

There is more than enough talent in Texas to go around and if SMU could lock down Dallas they would be a national powerhouse. Also, the NCAA would love to have the redemption story of a school getting the death penalty and then rising from the ashes.

SMU is not a bad school, better than Baylor, but not as good as any of the 3 schools it's already lost/going to lose.

SMU has a stadium that holds 32,000 people. Not very impressive. They have been horrible since the mid 80s. They did have back to back decent years against bad teams. They may never be able to compete at the Big 12 level like they could have in the 80s (while they were cheating.) If I'm the Big 12, I set my sites a little higher.

SMU seems to be on the way back up and could be worth a look. Before the death penalty they were a power house football program. They are already doing a good job recruiting even being in the Conf USA and getting into the B12 I would think improve it. I doubt they would be a conference doormat.

The B12 needs to be proactive and go get BYU and either C-State, SMU, Houston or Boise St before the whole thing falls apart

This would be a really bad move for any school not from Texas. If you want to re-balance the league so Texas doesn't hold as much power you have to find schools outside of that state to replace schools that leave. The only way I think SMU would be a good idea is if they go straight to 16. that way Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, and SMU are all in 1 pod of the 16 team big 12.

Who is SMU? Is that a serious question? The pony express ? Death penalty school hasn't recovered since? Catch a re run of 30 for 30 on Espn.

SMU does have a decent coach and seem to be rising back up again. But it still would be a step down for the Big 12.

It doesn't matter anyway, the Big 12 will be dead in 2 years anyway.

Indeed. And then it will be Jamie Pollard doing the skirt-hiking.
