SI's cover-Nebraska, New Big Ten Bully. Hmm - No.

If you refer to the post about Minnesota in the football forum you will see far more posts regarding how Iowa gave them the game rather than them outplaying us. I suppose everytime we lose to an inferior team, we gave them the game and we always outplay the better teams during wins?

I agree with you completely, but that wasn't what I was getting at in that post. As I stated The dropped TD pass at the end of the Indiana game, was a gift, simple as that because by all means we could have (and IMO should have) lost that game. All I am saying was that the Missouri game, was a great game between two good evenly matched teams and for anyone to say that Missouri gave it away with the int in the fourth quarter, completely ignores the fact that Stanzi threw 2 second half picks as well.

I totally agree with you that the phrase "gave the game away" is way to over used and is used as an excuse. When a team fails to show up (ie. Minnesota game last year) or just doens't play well and gets beat I don't see how that's giving the game away. At the same time, however if you take the energy level that Iowa played with at the beginning of the season and they take that to Minnesota, there is no question that the outcome is different. Not saying we gave them anything, but we definitely for one reason or another didn't come to play and Minnesota took advantage of that and earned a win.
