This has happened before. In the 1996 final poll Iowa was ranked and Duke wasn't, Duke also had that sub .500 season the year before when Krewsaweski was out with back issues.
Duke is having a great year, good for them, it happens once in awhile, Stanford is just as brainiac as is NW and they have been in the top 25. Get smart players who are good players, give them a good weight and conditioning program, and good coaching and it can be done.
But it is hard to keep it rolling at Duke because if the coach has success he will be gone.
Remember Steve Spurrier started his college coaching career at Duke.

Cutcliffe will be 60 years old next season. Not sure there is a better program out there wanting a 60 year old H/C.

Seriously! The ACC is a freaking wreck! The B1G would beat them top to bottom!
Duke is top in one conference! That would be like MSU! MSU would destroy Duke!
The rankings need to be done away with. They are so freaking biased it is not even funny.
The B1G and the P12 should split and create divisions and set up their own playoff system.
No reason some yahoo in Macon should be deciding the value of some Yankee team.
Also, it would be so freaking great to have every game be against a quality team.
Please Delaney and Scott, just get it done.
Think if a Hawk football schedule was Wisky, Minny, And Nebby (3 games) in division and then they played home and away against another B1G division (4 games) and then 2 games against the other 2 divisions. (4 games)
All you would be worried about was winning your division or being a wildcard. So, no playing Sisters of Mercy to pad the Stats and no playing against players getting paid or who can't read.
Finally. No Freaking Polls!

That eliminates a good half of the P12. Factor in players whose PARENTS are getting paid, and it's now probably the Pac 3...

What he meant was, let's just add Stanford and Cal. That's why he mentioned the whole PAC 12.
