Iowa will present an interesting case for the playoff selection committee once the committee begins releasing its rankings on Nov. 3. The Hawkeyes could easily get to 12–0 with zero wins over ranked opponents. Wisconsin and Northwestern were both ranked at the time Iowa beat them, but the Badgers have fallen out of the rankings and Saturday’s loss will likely knock the Wildcats out, too. Still, the Hawkeyes have a clear path to the Big Ten title game, and if they beat Michigan State or Ohio State there, it’ll be nearly impossible for the committee to leave them out of the playoff.

the odds of it happening are still low, but if Iowa does go undefeated, the respect will come.

I love the logic that any ranked team that loses to Iowa does not deserve to be ranked after their loss to Iowa. That will gradually fix itself if Iowa keeps winning. and If Wisc, Pitt, NW or ILL keep winning after their lowa loss, one or two of them will get ranked too.

If Iowa is 12-0, it won't matter what their opponents are/where ranked, they'll be well within the Top 10.

Five regular season games left. Each one is as tough and important as the next. Could win all or could lose all. Hoping we get some of our wounded warriors back during the bye week and strengthen our depth. Every little bit helps. Hoping for the best. I did say before the Wisconsin game that if we beat the Badgers I could see 7-0. Glad to guess right once in awhile. :)
