Just wondering if the former Hawkeye walk-on with the Iowa tatoo should have shown some character and stepped up for his former program. What do you think?
Personally, I'd love to have a lot more distance between our programa and "Biels."
Did you really just ask this question? Flip the situation...would you want Iowa to support Bielema who coaches a rival school in the same conference we compete in and that same school goes after the same recruits year in and year out?Just wondering if the former Hawkeye walk-on with the Iowa tatoo should have shown some character and stepped up for his former program. What do you think?
It just seems to me, if I'm Bret, given my history with the Hawkeyes and Ferentz, I would have shown some character and risen above the fact that Wisconsin and Iowa are rivals, and stood up for my Big Ten colleague. Others around the country, former ISU people even, have come out and stood up for Chris Doyle. I just think it would have made Bielema look like a folk hero. And I think, despite the cynicism that is easy to bring to this, that it would have been the right thing to do. I'm disappointed -- but not surprised -- that he didn't do it.
Are you kidding? "Biels" had probably contacted every Iowa recruit by 9am Thursday...
