I don't disagree, but I guess the fact that the trial is happening now means the story resufaces and the scab is ripped off the wound, so to speak.Pretty lame this is being reported on ESPN when these players are no longer members of the Iowa program.
Edit to not come across as insensitive to the situation. It's disgusting what these guys did to her (if in fact what she says is the truth) and they deserve whatever punishment they get.
I just don't see the need for ESPN to be breaking a story on this topic.
To me it's more of a news story and not a sports story like the DSMR and ESPN are putting out there. I don't mind that they are former Iowa FB players but the DSMR has the story under Iowa FB which is BS!
That they were Iowa football players at the time of the incident makes it a sports / football story. If they were simply students, ESPN would not be reporting it.
horrible story, but the young woman made some pretty stupid moves herself.
What's that, getting drunk with her co-athletes that she knew and lived with?
Giving Satterfeld a BJ thinking that would at least allow her to keep her virginity?
or maybe, her stupid move was passing out since Everson took it upon himself to rape her while she was unconscious.
Stupid is going home with someone who you don't know, yet we've all done that numerous times.
Partying with people who you consider your friends most would argue is being responsible.
Sorry drummer man the only stupid thing in this thread was that comment.
I'm not condoning anything here, and I think it is absolutely horrible what they allegedly did. Now, if the girl was passed out I can't see how her testimony is at all viable, and all of the other "witnesses" are heresay except for Satterfield who made a plea bargain to NO JAIL TIME. He raped her too, when she was awake! This is ridiculous to me.
She was passed out when Everson was there, but his DNA was found. She was awake and semi-coherent for the rest.
Has evidence been presented that she was "passed out" when Everson was there? She does not remember him, as well as many other details from that evening. Saterfield is the one who will provide the damning evidence against Everson, yet he is the only person the alleged victim testified forcibly raped her. Ugly business.
