Anyone that happen to make the scrimmage care to report?
Also, when does practice official start? I'm eager to see coach out there runnin the show, and the lineups that he will run.

15TH of Oct practices can start, HR has a couple of videos up, didn't see them mtself but the word was they looked like they were having fun and very relaxed
 
Fran looks like the type of coach who can be really intense and demanding at times, but also the type who generally likes to have fun playing the game. not too loose, but definitely not some tight ***

That's a good description Fran, I think. He requires a certain amount of discipline in his players, but general lets them do their thing, as long as it is within their limits. He isn't going to want/allow to have players going outside of the abilities, too often. We won't be seeing Basabe launching a bunch of 3 pt shots...but imagine if he does develop that shot!

I am looking forward to seeing how each individual player has developed in this off season. There are going to be several players that have really improved on their game, that will be interesting to see. Could be very interesting...

The Northwestern game. That will be an added benfit to the late start. Hopefully the practice won't be too early.

The different combinations in the lineup will be interesting to see. The starts should be Cartwright, Gatens, May/Marble, Basabe and Brommer, to start the season. Although everyone has said that Brommer looks quite sluggish. His off-season workout may have him on the bench more than I thought.
The lineup of Marble, May, White, Basabe and Olaseni should be a good one. Tall, athletic, quick and all good with the ball. It will be a nice change up from the starting lineup. Tough to defend and hopefully some good pressure D.
 
I wish there was a bigger emphasis on shirts and skins game coming uo for the bye week for ia fb. maybe give away some tickets per drawing for supporting the scrimmage.

The problem with that is, IIRC, they can't make an "official" public announcement or advertise it. It's supposed to be a purely word of mouth type of deal. Placing a bigger emphasis would mean publicly acknowledging it, which I think is a no-no. All that can really happen is for fans to let everyone know about it that they can and hope to get a decent turnout.

I am, however, still hoping for a Midnight Madness event on the 15th. Since we're supposed to get Mad again, it might as well be at midnight.

That would be good idea, in introducing the 2011-2012 team. Before the Northwestern game would be good to have a McCaffery controlled Black & Gold game, or another home football game that was a late start. The season will be starting quickly tho, not much time.

What would be amazing would be Midnight Madness after the night game.
