Shaun Prater has started a Twitter account

If the scouts watch the Mizzou tape I don't think they'll be overly excited about any of our pass defenders. We didn't get beat deep but we leaked like a sieve. Most NFL QB's can make those same throws.

I like Prater, but if he leaves this year for the NFL he's nuts. He's not there yet. Sash I could see, not Prater.

Dont think Prater leaving will be all that big of a loss for us next year. Hyde is coming along very well and i think Bernstien can take over No. 2 spot if he stays healthy. Watching the Insight Bowl, i am not too impressed with Praters cover skills. Got worked all night by that Moe guy from Mizzou. If he leaves i highly doubt he gets drafted, not ready to be a NFL corner.

It is hard to say if any of our guys could make it in the pros as little as we play man coverage. Also hard to say Prater go worked when he really isn't covering a man, just a spot in the zone.

If you actually watched the game while Iowa was playing defense, then you would realize Prater was shadowing Moe wherever he went. Moe worked Prater. Prater needs alot of mork on man vs man technique. Which is way i think he declares for the draft he would be making a huge mistake.

This tweet made me super nervous and I feel Prater is ready to make the leap:

I don't have twitter, so I may be wrong. But that looks like maybe it's just a welcoming message from the site, and telling them good luck with their new accounts (Clayborn was asking friends what he should use as a Twitter name earlier this week, so I think he may be new to it.). So maybe nothing to worry about.

Edit: I joined Twitter to see if that was the case. I didn't get that message, but it looks like the "good luck to you both" was posted by someone who was assuming that the Twitter launch is an unofficial declaration (even though players are allowed to tweet in the offseason).

I never did quite understand the whole concept of not allowing rumors on a message board. That's typically what message boards are for in addition to the general discussion. Some on this board treat it like this is the Associated Press and require citations for everything. I think most people are intelligent enough to filter the good information from the bad. Plus, it's not like people are running around town saying it's been confirmed that player X is off the team because poster Y's half-brother confirmed it on Hawkeyenation. That's not a credible source because it's from a message board anyway. I guess I would rather have a heads up and learn some information earlier even if a fraction of it turns out to be false. Take the John Edwards affair for example. National Enquirer was the only media source that investigated that and brought it to the surface. They are not known to be the most accurate media source, but if they hadn't reported on that incident, it may have gone unnoticed. The Adam Robinson issue was another good example. The poster was ripped on for sharing news which turned out to be accurate and he scooped the Iowa media in the process.

Yeah, we put on a real clinic around here for filtering the good info from the bad over the past couple weeks
