Shaun Prater: First Round draft pick?

Prater is trying to play other guys' positions for them, because he knows they won't be able to make the play. This is what happened on the TD. He knew the other guys couldn't stop the run and he cheated on run assist and got burned. Same thing is happening on some of the other pass plays. He is hesitating knowing that the team is getting beat on the shallow patterns.

Seriously people. Did you think Clayborn was a first round pick after last year? The NFL guys see things we don't. They also have a complex measurement system. Judging where a guy will go based on his senior season play is silly. Ask Reisner and King about that.

They also don't overreact to 2 bad plays.

For the amount of 1st rd and overall NFL draft picks we have had as of late, our results SUCK. Obviously talent exits on the field, but the coaches are simply not using it. Case in point--7-5 last year.

Surprisingly it takes more than 5 or 6 guys on a team to win every year, and though 15 or 16/22 starters may go to the NFL, not all of them are NFL ready at the same time. They develop at different times. We have guys that may make it to the NFL in a few years, but right now if they were to enter the draft there is no chance they get drafted or are NFL ready.

The first paragraph is spot on. That 3rd and 19 play on the final drive of regulation in the ISU game this was the case. Prater hesitated for a brief second and to Jantz's credit he put the ball on a dime in a tight window, however in '09 Prater is there to make the INT, probably in '10 as well at least before the injuries to Tarp/Neilsen.

2nd paragraph I agree with everything except the 2nd to last sentence. Waaay too many examples of guys getting paid and getting over based strictly what happen their senior year.
