Shaun Prater BT player of the week

OLIVE.....you clearly didn't go to the game or watch it very intently. Our defense changed up from the Wisconsin game. From time to time we went with different fronts from 3 to 5 down linemen. We also moved Morris from inside to outside to cover their receivers, utilizing a faster linebacker. And, we utilized the nickel package. We did not do any of that against Wisconsin! Last I checked OLIVE, Indiana's QB averages more passing yards per game then Cousins, or anyone else we have played this year!! Yes we won last's year's game, but IU's QB has had better games against us the MSU's or Wisconsin's QB' s have. So figure it out OLIVE!!

Yikes! I thought you said you were laughing...

You make a good point about the adjustment in terms of linebacker personnel. What I'm talking about are the two reliable boogeymen that always get brought up when Iowa loses: we should blitz more, and our corners give too much cushion. I have always felt that those are foolish things to complain about. It might be annoying to watch Prater give up slant after slant after slant, but it's part of a broader scheme and philosophy that, if executed correctly, has worked really, really well for us over the years and did again on Saturday. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we actually blitzed less against MSU than we did against Wisco, and the old 8-yard corner cushion was the same as it's always been. If Indiana exploits this to the degree that they are able to beat us, then I'll shut my mouth about it. I don't think it's going to happen.
