Shall We Rant (MSU)

It's becoming more clear that our already anemic offense can't be great with a traditional pocket passer with absolutely no ability to run. That is what made CJ successful. He never had great stats but the two or three big 3rd down scrambles make the difference with this offense. Look at the top 25 there are only 4 or 5 QBs on those teams that have zero ability to run when needed. Stanley looks like Jared Lorenzen running on a beach.

Well, it will never be great w/ KF as coach. Maybe change that part to "above-average", to keep it realistic?

According to the rules the coach can challenge a play if he is wrong he is charged a time out. Why doesn't Kirk ever use his option on huge calls. Last week Barkley was kneed down and got another 30 yards. No time out by Kirk. This week the pivotal play of the game and the announcers kept replaying the interception that looked like the player boggled the ball on the ground. Again, no call by Kirk. In that situation if there was ANY chance you have to challenge that call. Who on Iowa's staff is responsible for this call?

He doesn't yet know 8 points is just a 1-score lead. Challenges won't be on his radar for at least another 5 years!

Kirk has a well paid staff, dozens I presume. Can't he put one guy on the tv monitors and say a string and two cans to call in if we need to challenge a call. This shouldn't even be a head coaches decision, but the call of staff in the booth.

4.5 million per year. Still in Top 10 nationally in salary. I look at the rest of the top 20 coaches on the list and think, if their teams showed the similar records, sideline ineptitude, lack of bowl win in 7 years and offensive rank consistently over 90 in NCAA....that coach would last maybe two years.

At little old Iowa we are fine with average to below average. How many mill for the new facility? 85 mill for the new end zone.

It's time for the winning results to start matching the millions of dollars being pumped into the football program. Otherwise, we as Iowa Hawkeye football shareholders are just idiots to accept underwhelming performance.

Ask any Iowa sports journalist, and he or she will probably tell you it was a player's fault.

TP is a fine coach.... he doesn't call the plays. Defenses continually stack the box and blitz all day to jam up our run game. It's not his fault we refuse to make these defenses pay or have a quarterback with the skills to do so...

Yeah, I'd give that 12-2 (stop saying 12-0) season back for Kirk getting "retired" at this point. So tired of sucking.
Yeah, because 12-2 is so much worse than 12-0. Check the history books, junior. 12-2 is a damn good record for any school. Get over your whiny self.

Man this is dead on. Are you referring to Chad Leistikow's column last week where he claimed Brain called a good game against Penn St and cited all the mistakes the players made? That was pathetic. Not once did he mention the repeated stretch plays to the short side of the field into 8-9 man fronts. Or the lack of anything creative.
This is just ONE example from ONE PROFESSIONAL Ferentz kool aid drinker. There have been multiple examples. Past and Present.

Of course they just take their cue from the Captain. You know the lack of execution thing is just code for it's the player's fault.
And last week our cowardly Cap said Wadley wasn't consistent enough. Like that was the problem vs Pedo.
Sad. He is a grown man.

we could find a random mexican on a soccer team that could punt better than our current punter.
How bad can the freshman punter be? Those punts today were not good, and constantly put Iowa playing in their own half of field in the first half. Rastetter needs a break. Put the other kid in.

Chad's the biggest coach ass kisser of all the media that covers Iowa Football. Sadly, he has his own fans on twitter that are more worried about kissing his ass than the success of the football team.

Yes, and that is truly saying something. It's like some weird Ferentz lovefest. What do they feed them at those pressers.

Can you imagine if he coached in a large market? Or even a mid market? 19 years? Not a frickin chance.

And Thank God I don't do Twitter.

Speaking of that, I don't do Twitter either but can someone tweet a suggestion that during every home game, maybe after the 2nd quarter, all the fans stand and wave to the sick offense?

(not meant as derogatory to the hospital wave, but in addition to that)

Anyone besides me sick and tired of being pissed off almost every Saturday?
Do you really think this OL is fault of the first year OL coach?
This is BF's O line. The culmination of his 5 years as OL coach. His players. His coaching.
Yes, the Joe Moore Award should be re-named the Joe Less Award when spoken in terms of Iowa's OL.
We should seriously give it back, admit there was a mistake in us winning it and move on.
