Serious Questions and Thoughts!

Do not forget KF went kicking and screaming with virtually EVERYONE wanting Stanzi over JC. Who was right there?

This happens at less high profile positions that people do not pick up on. The fan base far too often trusts that KF puts the best 22 out on the field. Not always the case and it results into a lot of issues.

I about wanted to punch KF through the radio when I heard him say something about "We" (first of all, it is I, you are the freaking head coach and decision maker) decided we were going to do that, and he also said there isn't any "statistical evidence" if it works or not (or something like that). I'm just thinking to myself, then WHY THE *UCK ARE YOU DOING IT???? Are you saying that you don't know if it works or now, but you just decided to give it a shot about 3 years after it was popular and people STOPPED doing it, because it doesn't seem to work?

WTF kind of coaching is that? If you decided to do it, and it doesn't work, I'm fine with that. But if you tell me, well we don't know if it work, but we just decided what the h@ll lets just give this a shot, that is beyond stupid coaching.

I can forgive him icing the kicker because at least he was proactively trying to win the game for those few moments. We shouldn’t have been in that position anyway.

Also, if I have to watch another draw play to Bullock on 3rd and long I’m creating a kickstarter for Kirk’s buyout.

But why be proactive to win the game in the last 7 seconds and not really during any other point in the game other than when they went for it on fourth down in the first half? Speilman pointed it out several times during the game that you have to play to win the game. He also said that Iowa didn't have any RB's that's had a 2nd gear. Well, that's because our coach didn't play them. Where the eff was Daniels? Did I miss an injury? Rotation should be Weisman, Canzeri, Daniels....period!

1. When has icing the kicker really ever worked? It seems like they always make the second one, especially if they miss the first.
2. Is Bullock our best back? Seemed like he played the most. Seems to me that Weisman and Daniels are better between the tackles and Canzeri is better outside the tackles, so what gives?
3. If Ferentz doesn't care about this game, why should I?

As I cussed my way out they door and went to a movie right as the ISU kicker made the field goal, I realized that not much about this football team and staff excites me!

Your top 2 have been addressed pretty well so I will just comment on #3.

Kirk cares about every game, if you think otherwise well that is on you. I think the problem is that he doesn't realize or can't accept that his philosophy and this team are NOT a winning formula.

Another depressing thought to ponder is if we don’t convert that 4th and 8. We would’ve scored 7 or 10 pts against THAT defense.

If we don't convert the 4th and goal we would have scored 3 points. If the right field goal kicker would have been ready to come on the field we might have been shut out.

That's the problem. I seem to care about the ISU game as a fan more than any other when it comes to losing. We give ISU fans crap about how the Iowa game is their national championship or super bowl or whatever. It means a bunch to all of us as well. Let"s not kid ourselves, as Iowa Iowa fans, we most likely hate losing this game more than any other each year. Generally it's because we believe it's a game Iowa should win most years based on talent. Yet year after year I feel like the ISU players and the coaching staff are more amped up, prepared and they execute better than the Hawks? Why is that? It's because I think they care more about that game than Iowa does and that starts with KF. He has stated in the past it is just another game. In the grand scheme of things that may be true and technically it is not as important as conference games. However, it is an in-state rivalry game that it appears the head coach of Iowa could care less to play. If that is the case, cancel the series and Iowa can get kicked around by another major conference team or maybe beat another MAC team or squeak one out against another FCS team??? So maybe I should restate what I said. If he just views it as just another loss, because it is just another game, that is how I will view it. Just another loss! That's Football!

In hindsight, I am surprised Ferentz didn't call timeout when there was a problem with the FG kicker coming out. Probably would have iced our own kicker and we wouldn't have scored at all. At least he would have had statistical evidence that icing the kicker works?
