Serious question....

He took a team that is at best a 17th ranked team historically to a 12-0 season and to the brink of the playoffs, I'm surprised they didn't build a statue of him that rivals Christ The Redeemer in addition to the extension.

-------The extension is all about keeping the positive momentum going on the recruiting front.

What recruiting momentum would that be exactly? More two (2) stars at the skill positions who get exposed EVERY time we match up against a real program? The reason I asked, is because it was amazing to me how 95% of Iowa fans wanted KF gone following 2014, but all was forgotten after last seasons 12-0 run against pathetic competition. KF has more lives than even Alfraud did.

TEN more years of hell coming up!!!

Soak it in, let it wash over you, smell the fragrance. Enjoy it. Start more threads about it. Wring your hands, stomp your feet. If you keep complaining about it, maybe it'll change.

Yeah, I think we should hire a winning coach from the MAC, except that ISU beat us to it.

Ferentz is doing a fine job, contract extension or not. If this is hell, I'll take it

Bingo. I get as frustrated at certain losses as anyone, but if you think this is hell, you haven't experienced a whole lot of adversity in your life..

Fry and Ferentz likely mean we have back-to-back hall of fame coaches (is Kirk at 60%? the threshold, if not he's close)

Yeah, that's pretty awesome.

Their career parallel at Iowa is almost scary.

3rd yr breakthru.

Heisman runner-up QBs

The bowl win % is almost identical

Both teams went into a funk at comparable times (92/12) and then came out of it 4 yrs later. 95 Fry wins against Pac-10 co-champion. 15 Ferentz goes undefeated in regular season.

Fry got Iowa ranked number 1 for several weeks. Ferentz got us a BCS bowl win.

All of the bitching comes down to slavish contracts; nepotism and lack of taking the next step to the ultimate game.

Overall, yes things could be worse. But then we look at LSU and they just fired a guy who made it to the NCG twice!

Tomorrow will be another day of fun and nail-biting. Hawkeye fans want what Cubs fans want. Does that make us terrible people????? Naahh. It makes us pretty damn loyal.

Look how many games KF has won non-conference, and it really speaks volumes about his winning %....not to mention, we haven't had a tough Big Ten schedule since Kinnick had artificial turf.

Like hell it was anyone who knows this program didnt buy into the 12-0 when we couldnt win when it mattered. All was only forgotten by the people who support KF or the people on the fence who only pay attention when the Hawks have a good season. I think the amount of people who actually post on her anymore is quite proof enough most hardcore fans are done with KF football and what it brings out in them.

I have been reading about the Hawks for fifteen years and I can't remember anyone ever questioning the contract extensions, the buyouts, or the bonuses in that time. Maybe a long time ago upset fans would have taken the time to show their frustration but not with this team or this coach.
Then you haven't been paying attention.

The extension is all about keeping the positive momentum going on the recruiting front. If KF did not get an extension after last season's success, it could have fomented negative recruiting against Iowa.
Wtf? We are always ranked in the bottom tier of the Big Ten in recruiting. Wake up and smell the crap this program is.
