For those of you in Iowa and loyal readers of all the print media. Did even ONE writer dare question the recent extension? I am very curious, but I'm guessing that I already know the answer.

The extension is all about keeping the positive momentum going on the recruiting front. If KF did not get an extension after last season's success, it could have fomented negative recruiting against Iowa.

I think the team's performance may be a bigger hinderance to recruiting this year.
 
My only complaint about the extension was the timing of it. Tough time to announce it only to drop to an FCS 5x Champ later in the week.
 
We would likely be well advised not to spend time fussing about something that has already happened. The wisdom of the contract extension will be tested over the next 10 years.

What recruiting momentum would that be exactly? More two (2) stars at the skill positions who get exposed EVERY time we match up against a real program? The reason I asked, is because it was amazing to me how 95% of Iowa fans wanted KF gone following 2014, but all was forgotten after last seasons 12-0 run against pathetic competition. KF has more lives than even Alfraud did.

TEN more years of hell coming up!!!

Yeah, I think we should hire a winning coach from the MAC, except that ISU beat us to it.

Ferentz is doing a fine job, contract extension or not. If this is hell, I'll take it
 
I have been reading about the Hawks for fifteen years and I can't remember anyone ever questioning the contract extensions, the buyouts, or the bonuses in that time. Maybe a long time ago upset fans would have taken the time to show their frustration but not with this team or this coach.
 
Like I previously stated my problem isn't with the extension, but the timing of it. I think this should have been done during the offseason. It's not like it couldn't have waited for a better time; he was already under contract.
