Serious Question About Wrestling Board

If, as pin2win says, the goal is to make this the "go to board" for Iowa Wrestling news, why has the coverage of nationals been non-existent?

The session update threads have been barren for the most part. No articles, no interviews, no video clips, etc.

I'm sure everyone is bummed about the results. Keep in mind, this is all voluntary on his part.

On the flip side, if you're going to talk about being the go-to board, you got to put in work. So catch-22, I guess.

Cant be strictly because of the results. There wasnt even a Session I thread until I started one and I hardly know anything about wrestling and rarely post over here.

we were not granted a media pass because of the lack of coverage on the main page trust me I would of loved to cover it guys.

Not to affend anyone, but regular visitors to this site were aware that there would not the usual posting as with other meets or tourneys. I can see how the occational visitor would be disappointed when they came to this site and little to no information was available. Most of us that post here were either at work or in dsm attending the tourney and did not have access to do updates. Normally the 'King" (Pin) does one heck of a job keeping us up to date on all stuff wrestling. So as usual, a big thank you to pin for a season well done!

It all starts from the top. If John wanted to make this a go to for wrestling he'd need to provide a little help...media pass. With all the matches going on at such a quick pace at NCAAs it's nearly impossible for one guy (pin) to do updates on his phone. With a little help from John, this board could completly take off.

I dont think Jon has ever said he wanted to make this the go to board for wrestling.

The only person I have seen type those words would be pin.

Im sure Jon wants all the traffic he can get here, but I dont recall the above being a goal of his.

I agree with you 136. It all starts with Jon. If he decides to make an effort the traffic on here will increase immensely. A no-brainer to me and other wrestling fans

Honestly I dont think Miller cares to much about wrrstling unless the Hawks are winning titles. He rarely ever posts in the wrestling forum. You can see that he is a basketball fan first and foremost. Thats ok because its his board and he does what he wants. Once I read that Pin wasnt going to cover the championships I hardly even took a peek at this board. Kinda sad really.

For those of you who didn't get results I am very sorry. I did post every result on twitter but for me to login on my phone to hawkeyenation would of drained my phone because there was barely any service in Wells. Jon will be giving me control over posting articles for wrestling this summer and you can bet the farm we won't get denied a media pass because of lack of coverage throughout the year on main page.

The board needs to be more active during the season not just during NCAA championship time. Hawks1010 and I have plans for the site and hopefully they will come with more access to events. If the support is not there then we will take our time elsewhere. Kirk and I do all of this for free keep that in mind. A gentlemen and his wife came into Lucky Monkey not for a beer but to just thank me for my coverage on hawkeyenation which makes this all worth it. You know who you are stop lurking and start posting

Look for good things in the future and please continue to support the sport of wrestling and this website. Thanks for all the follows on twitter as well it was a great season.
