Selection show = joke

Back in the day used to be a 1/2 hour show to reveal the selections, then all the talking-head goofballs would kick it around on ESPN.
Now you get all the bullcrap stuck in the middle.
Bad, bad job this year.
Things getting worse each year, first the 'pod' concept, then the 'opening round' fiasco, then putting all the games on some funky arse channels, and now this.

Aint what it used to be.

I know, I turned it on and number 1 seeds... commercial, who should have been a number 1 seed, commercial.....talk talk talk no information.

I wasn't interested in watching a 2 hour selection show. I recorded it and started watching at 5:45...was caught up at 6:26.

But I love having the games on 4 different channels. I hated watching Kansas win by 25 when there was a 2 point game with 30 seconds left...that wasn't "regional." I choose which game I want to watch. It makes my 4 day viewing marathon much more enjoyable.

Agreed. NCAA tourney as a viewing experience is so much better now than when we were younger.

Too many chiefs......I'm just amazed that the Food Network, or HGTV doesn't have a selection show.......oh wait, they might have the "what's your favorite NCAA bracket-buster sandwich" show, or "You too can create an NCAA man-cave" for as low as $500,000......

Its ok if you GET those channels. Some of us dont want to pay for that crap.
Albeit it is a LITTLE easier now with Roku and things of that nature.

This is a great thing. Now no one is stuck watching a 1 seed blow out a 16 for an hour if they'd rather be watching another game. Or if you're like me and live in FL, you don't have to worry about whether the Hawks will even be televised. Don't they still do March Madness on demand? Or, go to a bar to watch the game.

Agree with the rest of your post, though. Cut the show back to an hour, get to the brackets - and no more digital bracket selectors that Charles Barkley can fumble around with.

2 hours was way too much - I also DVR'ed and was able to skip a lot of the junk. I had no interest in spending that much time just to get the brackets.

The 4 tv channels is the greatest thing that ever happened. Before that they streamed all the games on the internet for a small fee and even that was totally worth it.

This weekend is the best 4 days of sports all year.

Just like network TV to take something that was good and figure if we double the length of it, we'll get double the ratings!!

Morons. That show really really sucked.

Cue The Who: I Won't Be Fooled Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't used it in a few years but you can stream all the apps on your tablet from what I remember...even 4 at a time I believe.

Didn't watch a minute of it. Find out everything you need to know from twitter or the internet.
Amen. I've never watched the selection show. The fact that it's ballooned up to 2 hours of talking head obesity, only validates the reasons why I was never interested in it. They ruin everything.
If I was going to have a 2+ hour selection show, I'd fill it with 2 minute breakdowns of every team in the field. And I'd have a coach from the same conf of each team, doing the "breakdown" (the coaches that aren't playing in the post season, of course). You might accidentally learn something that way. No chance of learning anything from the Jay Bilas' or Dan Dakich's of the world.

I'm pretty sure once they realized the real bracket leaked they started rushing the unveiling. after the 3rd bracket they stopped doing that stupid thing where they talked about each bracket in depth and had someone pick the winners on a screen. It was pretty funny.
