Seems a former DL coach has anger issues

Wow... At least we dumped him long before this happened... Didn't we lose a kid that transfered out because of him? I can't remember the kids name. Didn't he quit football all together or something?

John Raymond was one of them. For the record, Raymond was rescued from an abusive home as a young child where his mother whipped him with vacuum cords, punched him in the face, made him sleep outside the house, along with other vicious beatings. It's really sickening to think that Kaz got to coach this fragile kid.

Yea that name and his back story sounds familiar to me. I'm sure that's who I was thinking of. I remember once hearing about his up bringing a little just feeling so bad for the kid. Let alone losing a stud recruit.

I believe this might the the only scenario where Kirk actually fired someone. I'm guessing it was less dramatic, but telling someone that you aren't renewing their contract = Fired. That's what KF supposedly did.

Yes, and if I remember right a few former defensive lineman sent out tweets that made it sound like they wished they didn't have to deal with him when they were in Iowa City (they didn't seem surprised to see him go). It's one thing to be a tough coach. It's another level completely when you're chasing off talent because you're just an *******.

I think I know why that top lineman/backer from Nebraska had all those positive marijuana tests from the combine and earlier. Its tough to deal with the stress of such a psycho line coach, he just needed help chillaxing after practice, NFL will waive his suspension now.

Raymon landed at Syracuse and is working back from a bad knee injury http://www.syracuse.com/orangefootb...orked_his_tail_off_to_return_from_severe.html

Do you guys remember that final BO rant where he went off on his AD and was all like "HE DOESN'T HAVE CORE VALUES" and "HE IS A LAWYER HE MAKES POLICIES...".

Maybe having an institution with a lawyer, and some robust policies could have done something here, or not, you never know?

EDIT, I dug up the transcript
“A guy like (Eichorst) who has no integrity, he doesn’t even understand what a core value is," Pelini told players, according to the report. "And he hasn’t understood it from the day he got here. I saw it when I first met with the guy.

“To have core values means you have to be about something, you have to represent something, you have to have something that is important to you. He is a f------ lawyer who makes policies. That’s all he’s done since he’s been here is hire people and make policies to cover his own ***.â€￾

Ferentz hired this guy and kept him around? Whats the story of how he got to Iowa?
All I know are the linemen he coached at Iowa... all the players who've gone to the pros that Kaz helped recruit and teach and the marked decline in the performance of Iowa's defensive line since he's gone. Yeah, he's a 'bag.
