SEC/Big 12 Bowl Pact will have Big Ten Ripple Effect

And here comes the begining of the end for the bowls. those who begged for a playoff, be careful what u wish for

It's not going to be the beginning of the end of anything.

Rose/Pac Champ will be in the Rose
Big12/SEC champ will be in the Sugar
ACC/Big East will be in the Orange

Fiesta gets Big12/SEC runner ups
Cotton gets the Big 12/SEC 3rd Place

and so on...

What you are witnessing the end of is the Big Ten #2 playing the SEC #2. Get used to this idea... a good season will end with playing a Pac 10 team.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Fiesta becomes the home for the BiG/Pac alignment, or the Holiday Bowl. We might still play a Big 12 or SEC team in a bowl game but it will be in New York City or Jacksonville... not in Tampa or Orlando

This is hilarious. All those nay sayers telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and here we are AGAIN Jim "Dopey" Delaney sitting on his arse outflanked by Slive and the Bowlsby!

The Big 10 burns while Delaney sits on high a fiddles.

ND can rot as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed their attitude of we are ND and the rest of the country isn't is killing them. Another couple mediocre years with the recruiting classes they have had and they will be almost irrelevant. And then they'll join the Big 10!

This is sarcastic right?

Sounds like groundwork for a playoff.

B1G vs. Pac12 (Rose Bowl)
SEC vs. Big XII (?)

winners meet in National Championship

The President's meeting in June will be interesting. I'm hearing they are scared of this due to potential anti-trust issues.

Remember, the U Presidents will all hammer this out. I believe they meet 6/23. Some have been quoted as saying they aren't walking out the door without the framework decided.

Do you know what the anti-trust issues would be, Golf?

.

Only what the guys on the ESPN college football show are talking about. I guess it prevents all others from having a chance to compete, so they are worried that Sen Hatch starts the whole anti-trust thing up again.

I guess it wouldn't be Hatch this time, but some other state's Senator.

Anybody been to CyFan today? Christ! By the way they are talking you would have thought they had won the National Title. They got lucky. They get to ride the coat tails of the new Big 12 and live vicariously through the conferences supposed success. If they were a low end team in the ACC or Big East they'd be ******** their pants right now.

Maybe the excitement is a little overdone, but it's pretty much expected after having to deal with the stress of conference realignment last summer (And I'm not a fan of CF by any means)....

Does Iowa not ride the coattails somewhat of the Big 10, and the more elite programs of the conference? Granted, it's not by much, but they benefit as well somewhat.

I don't blame ISU fans for being excited. But please don't compare Iowa's membership in the Big 10 to ISU's membership to the Big 12. Iowa has won conference titles and been to major bowl games including BCS games. ISU has not. I admit that there are advantages to being in the Big 10, but it is a partnership of universities. The Big 12 is Texas, Oklahoma, and everyone else. They have taken steps to becoming more equal, but they aren't there yet.

Going forward in the new CFB world neither Iowa or ISU have easy roads to hoe. The blessing is both are included in the big boys club and get their pockets lined.

Agreed, I wasn't trying to say they were that much similar, but Iowa does benefit from being Big 10, I should have made it a bit more clear. Sorry about that.

Last summer, ISU looked seriously in danger of begging for a Big East invite or ending up in the MAC/MWC/CUSA. Now they are a solid member of what could be the future of college football. It is like they won the friggin lottery, and they deserve to be ecstatic.

Good luck in the future, with no more 2,3, and even 4 co-champions.
