Season Ticket Renewals

Did mine yesterday. $758 for two seats. No chairbacks, no donations. The payment plan is a great thing. It was $730 last year for two tix.

Got the email yesterday. I'll be waiting until spring break week so I can move some money around to make it work. I have 4, so that is expensive! (for me, anyhow!)

Anyone else trying to add more tickets this season? I was lucky enough to get 2 last year and will be trying to add 2 more.

My brother in law is going to take over my wife's seat since we are going to be having a baby in July. I am going to try and get 2 more for my dad and brother and they are also going to ask for 2 as new customers and see how it turns out.

I know of about 20 people that wont be renewing after the tailgating crackdown. If I know that many people, personally, how many more are there?
Then you consider the less than stellar season, compared to peoples expectations (realistic or otherwise)
The drug issue.
The workout issue.
Expectations for the up coming season arent very high.
Unemployment, gas prices, ticket price increase.
It all adds up to turn some fans away.
The last 5 or 6 months have not been kind to Iowa football.

I dont get this. The police backed off considerably after the first game. Or are they upset that they cant hang around after?

I dont think not being able to eat/drink for as long as you would like after the game is a reason to get rid of my tickets. To each their own I guess though.

Always great when the fair weather fan is weeded out, this is a good thing! Plenty of die hard hawk fans will pick up the dumped tickets by these people.

Hilarious when a tailgating policy drives people to give up tickets...apparently booze over football for some?

It isnt about the booze (I dont even drink). Its about the rather large sums of money it requires to attend Iowa football. People that shell out that kind of coin, dont want to be treated like criminals for their troubles.
Did you guys even bother to read the 60 pages of angry e-mails the AD recieved?
Its obvious that you werent one of the people that contributes north of 10K a year, only to be accused of smoking weed with your 6 am cup of coffee, by police officers. NO BOOZE PRESENT, ANYWHERE.
Joseph Stalin would have loved to have more citizens like you.
I would be willing to bet you 2 tickets to every Iowa home game, that we dont sell out season tickets, this year.

I don't understand the tailgate issue. I tailgated in both Finkbine Commuter and Finkbine golf course last season and never once ran into any issues with the "supposed" crackdown. Never once got hassled by the cops or saw anybody get hassled. Also parking over on the University Heights side of the tracks means you can still make the walk to the stadium with your beer until you reach the bridge.
