Season Ticket Pics ***Friendly Tip of the Day***

Not an ordeal 1/2 hour at best. New barcodes are assigned for the entire season batch so only a headache for the first game. After the new set of tix is issued the originals are flagged. So when attempted to use at subsequent games officer o'malley gets a nod and the questioning begins. Quit being such a crepe hangar

It was a warning. It can be done and I'll leave it at that. If you feel so safe with your tickets feel free to post a pic of them.

Considering I finish my last beer sometime around the playing of the national anthem and usually get to my seat just before kickoff, getting in a half hour late would be an ordeal for me. Especially if somewhat intoxicated self has to deal with law enforcement officials.

Your OP made it sound like one would lose their seats. Your advice is not stupid. But who in the world would post their tix online as a photo. ?

Beer drinkers aren't stupid enough to post pics of their tix online.

Somebody else did but the post was taken down per his request. It was a thread celebrating the fact season tix were arriving in the mail today and somebody posted a pic of their tix to brag about it. Unfortunately for him his bar code numbers along with the seat info was showing clearly. That's why I posted this thread, so others wouldn't follow. Your points overall are valid. A scammer won't get all your tickets, but will probably get one before its flagged. And that would be a 30 minute headache some people wouldn't want to go through.

Wow wondering if they would pst a pic of their debit card as well. ?

so where do you sit when you do this norwalk? the 2 star guys in the student section are like soup nazi's. i even tried to go in there with a 5ish year old son back in the christiansen days when the place was half empty (indiana game), and we got asked to leave even then.

There are open seats all over the stadium for virtually every game except the most high profile. I sit in an area that is exclusively season ticket holders and there are always open seats around me unless it's ISU or Nebraska or something like that.

yeah, i suppose you'd just have to kill half the first quarter in a tunnel or something, scanning for open seats. my parents have saison tackets and other than crap opening saison games, my perception is that the place is pretty full.

It's pretty full but there are always random open seats.

Two stories:

1. I know a guy that legally has access to a few games a year where he gets in for free but does not have an assigned seat. He is given a pass to get into the gate but then has to fend for himself. He almost always comes to my section and has a seat right next to me. The only time this hasn't worked out was the Michigan night game a few years ago.

2. I once had tickets in a different section of the stadium that I had never sat in before. Midway through the 1st quarter a huge fight nearly breaks out in the row behind me. Seems one guy there had 4 together in the same row, but he only brought one other person with him thus had 2 open seats. Two other guys sitting nearby decided to sit there as to avoid the row cramping in their assigned seats. I was sure that punches were going to be thrown until the situation calmed down.

I like to stand up by the wall in the NE endzone, right by the scoreboard. Sure, teh view of plays inside the 20 on the south end is not optimum, but it's a great atmosphere up there and no authoritarian BS. *wink wink*

Yes but your Id and original tix will still get you into the game.

That's not true. The University knows when you sell your tickets on Stubhub. They track all that information.

When you sell your tickets on stubhub, you enter your bar codes. Less than 5 seconds later, the tickets are validated. Once a buyer purchases your tickets, the University of Iowa emails the buyer the 'new tickets.'

Your season tickets for that particular game are no longer valid.
If your ticket doesn't scan at Kinnick, they have access to see if that ticket was sold on stubhub. If it was sold on Stubhub, they're not going to let you in with the original ticket.
