Season Ticket Holder Survey Podcast

You missed his point of "knee-jerk": NONE of those commenting/laughing/blustering have contacted the AD or Athletic Department for ANY kind of statement/clarification/etc.

In other words, numerous media hacks got "Trumped"...

Why would any media member HAVE to contact Iowa for an explanation of the purpose for the survey? Did the University of Iowa provide an explanation to the folks they sent the survey to? The survey itself stands on its own merit. The questions in the survey are intentional.

The issue is that Iowa fans see is that with slumping ticket sales, the Athletic Department is, essentially, giving two reasons, other than winning, that should cause fans to buy tickets.

Don't know for certain, but if they DID try, and got no response, I'd guess we'd hear that.

Could be. But then again, I think the survey speaks for itself. If Barta actually needs to be contacted to explain it... well, there you go.

I'm sure somebody will ask him at the next press conference. Can't wait to see how he spins this one.

I disagree with the negative opinions about the survey on this podcast. This I found the survey to be very interesting. In addition to winning I believe that many fans don't think as much about the other aspects of the program. It has got me thinking.

About graduation rates, it makes me think of what I can do to help with the education of the student athletes. I am thinking public events might be a good idea. Some people are in position to make donations and that is good too.

On doing it right I take another route. Since 1930 the Iowa program has been clean. The problem is that enforcement and punishments against the teams that have violations are too low. This way no one will be cheating to gain advantages any more. I also say forget the vacating wins, make them be forfeits such as the 09 o$u game, and the implications there are significant.

Stay tuned Hawk fans! Future survey questions on the way from your very own Iowa Athletic Dept.!

Would you prefer the Hawks earn a BCS Bowl invitation or an opportunity to play in the Quick Lane Bowl in beautiful Detroit, MI?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it that:

Iowa is competitive in the West Division?
Iowa beats Iowa State?
Iowa beats Nebraska?
Tailgating is allowed prior to and after Iowa football games?
The Hawkeyes attempt to throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field?

Rest easy Hawk fans... We're tirelessly working to get a pulse on the fan base!

Good podcast and Deace made many interesting points about the survey. This survey almost looks like an outside consultant to the corporate world was brought in to fit their corporate survey experience into the college athletic arena.......and it ends up being a black suit with brown shoes.
