Seantrel Henderson: The saga continues

Answer:

A diluted urine drug test is one where the sample was diluted. It happens in two ways--you drank too much water to make yourself pee (DOT's standard says drink no more than 40 ounces of water), or you put water in your sample after you peed it out.

A negative diluted test says "no drugs in this sample passed the test thresholds, but it was diluted so there MIGHT be drugs in here." Basically, a diluted negative is a test failure.

But not proof that drugs were in the system, right?

Where has he been projected? I can't believe he would be a first-rounder at this point. Maybe the Raiders...

I hope the Curtain makes a trade this year with the team they think will finish in last place and get the 1st overall pick in next years draft and then take Brandon!! One can only hope and dream. Go Steelers!!!

Still wish he would have been a Hawk. Kirk would have made sure he peed clean

I hope you're an ISU troll and not a Hawk fan.

It's one thing if he was an All American but he WASN'T. he was a huge question mark with a crazy ******* dad and he is such a stupid person that he couldn't not smoke pot for a while before the one day that could mean making boatloads of money or working at FedEX. We've had some good offensive lineman. That idiot wouldn't have got us one more win. Thank God that stupid idiot was never a Hawkeye.

I can understand the wailing and hand wringing wanting him to come here when he was a highly touted high school senior. But If after watching his college career and you're still wishing he was a Hawkeye, you should be in a padded room cause you are very crazy.

I don't understand what the "diluted sample" entails so much. But if your failing those tests due to actually doing drugs for the month or so leading up to the combine while you should be eating right working your *** off to get in the best shape possible then your just an idiot... The kids talent would have to so outweigh their being an idiot to make me want them on the team. Happens every year pretty much..

Actually, I heard an interesting discussion on sports radio on this topic. A former NFL lineman was talking about why this happens every year. The testing that is done for extra curricular drugs while players are in the NCAA is different than what is done by the NFL leading up to the draft. He said they aren't really trying to find people that are using, for a lack of a better way to put it, when they are in college. Whereas they really want to find it leading up to the draft. He said you could use in college and it wouldn't show up in tests two weeks later when the NCAA was testing. But, when they do it at the draft what you did a month earlier does show up.

I am not sure how accurate what he said really is, but it does make sense and explain why people get caught.

He is already more successful and richer than all the people posting in this thread about his drug test.

Holy Hell.... I feel so inadequate. S'cuse me while I retreat into my den/office/basement and re-examine my entire post-graduate adult life and choices.

My guess is that FedEx has a tougher drug test and policy than either the NCAA or NFL. He'll be lucky to land a job at FedEx.

I hope the kid wakes up, but given the coddling/exploitation/craziness of his father, we shouldn't hold out much hope...

So honest question. regarding the use of water to dilute it and the over consumption of water to get a failed test. I don't have much knowledge regarding drug testing methods as I've never had to worry about it.

When they say that 40+ ounces consumed can be enough to lead to an inconclusive test/failure. Is that 40oz. the day of the test, or under 40oz. daily prior to the test. I'm assuming the day of, but if its leading up to it I could see that being problematic as 40 oz. really isn't that great of a fluid push for athletes working out and trying to stay hydrated.

You sure about that? 22 picks left in the draft and nobody has touched him. More than half the league has said "No Thanks"

EDIT: He was just taken 237 out of 256 picks. Pretty good for a guy who was considered the #1 prospect in the country 4 years ago.

Destined for greatness.

Another former #1 overall recruit, Ronald Powell of Florida, was taken in the 5th round today.

Even more interesting, just watched the local sports news (WCCO, TCities CBS affil). In a piece about the "local athletes" taken in the draft, they listed 5 kids from Minnesota high schools who were taken in the 7 round draft, and one who was an UDFA. Henderson's name was left out. Interesting.
