Scuffle at end of game?

We did not deserve to win as much as IU. We performed horribly in the red zone. Our D gave up the right amount of points to win, but our O couldn't perform in the red zone for whatever reason.

I can see how someone might think we deserved to win as much as them, because we made the plays at the end. However, we should have beaten them handily, period. And they played way above their means, as did their D. That would indicate they outplayed us, since we have much more talent and coaching than they do.

Hence, they deserved to win more than us. Except, and I will gran this, you are what the scoreboard says you are at the end of the day and season. And we won and they lost. In that sense, we deserved to win because we found a way and they are a program that seems to find a way to lose. But we hardly deserved to win. Not really.

According to a buddy that was at the game, one of Indiana's LB was being restrained by a cop when the teams were walking off the field. He may have been farely intoxicated (my friend, not the LB, but then again who knows) but that is what he texted me right after the game.

I would be ****** too. IU outplayed Iowa all game.

Actually, no they didn't. Iowa outplayed IU most of the game but couldn't execute redzone trips to TDs. Look at the box score. We were pretty dominant and without knowing the score, you'd think we won by 21.

IU should have been peeved, they should have won. If Iowa would have show that much spunk during the game, it would have never came to the last drive.

How do you figure?

Iowa had 22 1st downs to 19 for Indiana
Iowa outgained them 445 to 313
Iowa averaged 8.8yds per pass attempt, Indiana averaged 4.4yds
Iowa averaged 5.3yds per rush, Indiana averaged 3.8yds.

Was it only that many? I felt like every other play the f'n Indiana band played that god-forsaken first down song. I posted in our misc game thread that I hated that song, and I heard it enough today that it's still stuck in my head 8 hours after the game is over.

I would say it was more of Iowa not executing. Outside of the redzone, there was really no chance of Indiana stopping us. I mean, we had the ball inside the 10 yard line 4 times, and couldn't convert. We had like 450 yards compared to Indiana's 300? So I wouldn't say we were outplayed ALL game???

Get out of here with your fancy stats, you're ruining this argument.
