What Scott is failing to realize is how important Ohio State & by association the B1G is to the playoff. If the B1G has a season the college football playoff will adjust.
If the B1G plays a 6 game schedule starting on Thanksgiving weekend the season will conclude on YYE weekend. B1G championship game on January 9th.
So in order for the CFP to include the B1G they would only have to push back their games 2/3 weeks.

I don't disagree with SVP at all. I firmly believe that the thought of starting a season, when the teams you are competing against for a playoff spot are concluding there's, is absolutely ridiculous. We complain year in and year out about how the rankings unfairly affect teams on a bye or how a team that can't make their own conference championship (essentially having a bye week) can seriously slip into the playoff picture, but suddenly by some miracle of God were going to be able to evaluate what a team looks like in game 1 and compare it to a team that's already been playing for two or three months? I just don't see anyway it plays out in which it doesn't play out like an absolutely shit show. I simply don't see how a playoff picture works with staggered start dates.
