Scholarship Status

Can someone give a run down on (or point me to a place I can research) where we are with scholarships? (i.e. How many (if any) are still open for 2010?, How many come available in 2011? etc..)
 


Current Roster for 2010-2011

Fresh
Basabe
McCabe
Marble
Stokes--walk-on

Soph
Cully
May
Cougill

Jr.
Archie
Gatens
Brommer

Senior
Cole


Currently there are 3 available scholarships for the 2010-2011 season.

Basabe-took Larson's scholly

Brust-Open scholly--ask out of LOI
Fuller-Open scholly
Tucker-Open scholly
 


If Iowa takes a Juco guard....add him to the Jr. or Sr. class depending if they go with Ware (Sr) or Salter(Jr.)

Iowa would have three scholarships to give for the 2011 class (if Salter comes in) or four scholarships if Ware commits.

Iowa would have four scholarships for the 2012 class if Salter commits or three if they take Ware.
 


At this point it looks like Ware makes the most sense for Iowa (if going the Juco route).

Has Fran talked about banking any of the scholarships?
 


Hope we can get both Salter and Ware. Picking up Ware w/ only one season doesn't effect us longterm and he could help right away. Maybe he could help us get into the NIT!?!?

I think he's assuming we'd fill Ware's scholly in 2011 after he graduated this year. Would be possible to have 4 for 2012 though if they did not fill his scholly, but I doubt/hope that Fran won't bank all of those scholarships for 2 years.

So Iowa allowed 15 on scholly? Any restrictions on how many they can give in any 1 year? I was thinking no more than 5.
 


I saw on the Indiana site a while back that the Big Ten allows teams to over sign by one player but it didn't say how long they can remain over the limit.l
