If BF is not replaced at the end of this season, whether fired, demoted, or leaves Iowa on his own, there are no more excuses to keep him on as OC. Barta and KF will be in some trouble. Maybe Barta will be first to be fired. New guy could be in charge of KF’s future, which is a method used by other power 5 programs to put the head guy on notice.
I cannot for the life of me understand why BF has not fired himself. Tough for his dad, understood. But if BF has any family loyalty, he would either have asked to be re-assigned or just move on from Iowa. I just don’t get it.

Did you hear his press conference, he's not a quitter.
 
If Brian and Barnett have any integrity, both would resign this week. Brian has to see the uncomfortable position in which he has put his father, knowing that the program is handcuffed as it relates to Kirk's exorbitant buy-out. If he cares at all about his father, he would fall on the sword now.

Barnett hasn't shown that he brings anything at all to the table. Just the opposite: the OL has gone consistently backwards since he took over. The group is young, yes, but they are making the same fundamental mistakes every game, such as waist-bending, poor hand placement, poor communication, etc. The talent and physical attributes are there. The coaching isn't.

I am now at 98% that Brian will not be on staff next year.

I'm now wondering about Kirk. I'm actually gonna open with a 7% chance he won't be back.

That lawsuit, man. It's a major tightrope. I just don't see a way to navigate it like, barring settlement. And I don't see a settlement coming.

Has nothing to do with Barta. This is all KF and boosters.

I’ve said it for years, Rob has said it here, even the guy who wrote this article says it in no uncertain terms.

Gary Barta has no power over the football program whatsoever. Zero. Zilch. KF is his boss, I don’t care what his job title says.

And that’s the problem. KF has been allowed to become the most powerful guy in the room. He’s essentially become a self-employed business owner. If this scenario happened in the banking industry the government would’ve shut it down long ago.

Nothing is going to be done until the biggest boosters turn on KF and that ain’t happening.

Haha whoops... The truth accidently slipped out. Hilarious.

What a well written article by this guy. He covered all the obvious angles. I mean it's not just bad for Iowa but bad for college football which is this guys overall point. How coaches are hired for these 7 and 8 figure jobs now is only going to get more and more scrutinized. KF and Iowa can't afford to be archaic dinosaurs. The world is changing and fast. We are getting left in the dust and sure 10 wins happened just last yr. But that may as well have been a decade ago already with how bleak the immediate future looks. Things sure don't look good....
 
This article is well written and spot on. It’s a good thing someone not close to the program was willing to write this cause we all know no one close to the university would’ve written it the way it was written. It needed to be said and the national spotlight WILL force the change. The only thing that might save Brian’s job is somehow going 6-0 and averaging 350-400 yds/game.
