Totally fair response he could have dismissed it but he called it what it was embarrassing on all fronts. What else do you say. And he can't say anything like we're firing him. He was correct just 1 week ago we beat the tar out of NW so this debacle no one saw coming. If we lose out there should be AMPLE pressure placed on Kirk's backside.

If we lose Saturday (which basically guarantees losing out), and if major player defections that have been hinted happen...I don't see how anyone, including major donors, can justify retaining the staff. This would be a very diso appointing series of events.

God, I hate how negative I've become, but that drubbing last week, combined with absolutely horrid responses by KF in his interview, have brought me to a place I didn't see coming.

I think Barta needs to look up Ferentz's record against rivals Iowa State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. That right there is a good start if you want to try and see if you still have confidence in a coach.

A good athletic director would send a response like this. Not offensive to the recipient, supportive of the program, and positive overall despite the topic.

A good athletic director would also be quietly polishing his "short list" of coaches to replace KF. A good AD would be keenly aware of the condition of the program and lack of progress.

Is Barta a good athletic director? TBD...
