Sash Turning Pro

Probably the best choice for him to go pro. Wasnt going to up his stock much by staying another year. Good chioce too by McNutt and Prater. They can use another year and really move up the boards.

Oh how quickly we forget just cause it sounds like the guy is gonzo. A sixth or seventh rounder at best, not very talented for the next level? Give me a break guys. The guy started for three years at safety for Iowa, he's fast, he is a crazy ball hawk, and half the defenses in the nfl play the cover 2 like Iowa does. Add up his athletic skills with his proven knowledge of how to play in the cover 2 and he'll be a very good safety in the nfl barring injury and he should be one of the top 3-4 safeties off the board. Re-donk-u-less is trashing the guy as he walks out the door when its not true. If he was coming back the same guys would talk about how he's clearly the best safety in the nation next year.

Didn't realize he was that old. With the window being as small as it is in the pros I can't say I blame him for making the move. I will definitely take two of three returning starters. Unfortunately, I think we will see more and more of this where players leave early. If someone has a strong sophomore and junior season the chance exists the pros will be the next step and the senior season will be bypassed. Can't say I blame any kid who has the chance to make some serious cash.

Probably the right move for Sash, but would have loved to have had him 1 more year. With major losses on the D-line there's not much likelyhood he would have put up great numbers and his biggest NFL draft issues will likely be speed and numbers related rather than technique issues.

Lots of parellels w/ Matt B. and Sash. Both wore #9 as Hawks, both were ball hawks and viscious tacklers, I remember telling "Bo" (MB is a friend of the family) that Sash reminded me alot of him when he played at Iowa. Very similar styles of play that obviously translated well to the next level for him, and I believe will for Sash as well. I wasn't surprised when Tyler announced. Wish him the best. Was cool that MB broke it. Fitting really.

I hope the Colts take him. I'm just not sure how poor Bob is going to get/stay healthy. Best of luck in the NFL Tyler!

Wes Bunting, who does this stuff for a living and is very well respected says Sash is a 4-6 RD guy, who will be the 4th safety on a team, play special teams and not be in the league very long because he does not tackle well.

The dude was a buzz saw. He took the opponents head off on every play he was in. I don't understand this comment at all.

Missed tackles were plays that he was in on. That's his one flaw, IMO. And it's one that I didn't really notice until this season. I remember him being a surer tackler his freshman and sophomore years.

I'm sure he had Tom Brady at the top of his draft board, too . The draft is a crapshoot, the "experts" are just making educated guesses most of the time.

He doesn't wrap up well in my opinion.

This. He looked for the BIG hit more this year than ever before. That doesn't fly in the NFL unless you hit like a ton of bricks. Sash does for the college level, but he's not going to hit as hard as some of the bonecrushers at the next level. He's going to need to refine his technique.

Sash going pro was on twitter from pretty solid sources and we will never know about the drug tests they are confidential.
