Sargent

What a great addition to the team. Sounds like he's also a great teammate too. I think he's starting to see the field better and he's kind of finding a groove now. Damn, he's a tough dude to bring down. I loved the run down inside the 10 yard line where the UNI DB hit him at about the 8 and Sargent went through him and kind of hopped to the 2 yard line. That was crazy. It's easy, due to his height, to overlook that he's 215 pounds. Thats a big back. Toren Young is another guy I wouldn't want to tackle...he punished a few people last night. He didn't look to make anyone miss last night.

The thing about Sargent and Easley, for that matter, is that it appears to me that we are now working on a pipeline for players in the JUCO ranks. I know it's not necessarily our focus, but it can sure shore up some recruiting ills if you find the right guys that fit what we do. Sargent and Easley were the right guys. It also sets a precedent for players in JUCO to see what these two have done at Iowa. If they are good enough, they play.

Kudos to the staff.

How dare you praise a player when all he did was against such a lowly foe as UNI!! Did I do that right?

All jokes aside he looked really good last night. Dialed in. Great pick up by the staff. (Oops there is that praise again).

What I like is that all three heads of Cerberus bring something different to the table while still running tough in the middle.

The Juco work has been a happy side note. We should keep our minds open to this because we can't seem to routinely recruit offensive playmakers so we should probably bring in a Juco every year on offense. Just to hedge our bets.

We're going to have a nice problem when IKM comes back.

Not quite the level of the 2015 Canzeri/Wadley/L Daniels triumvirate' but a reasonable fascimilie of it.

Pretty strong threesome of RBs.

The limiting factors for this team are simply... consistent blocking from the interior of the offensive line, improved accuracy from Nate (despite his good numbers last night, his throws are still off... lots of em behind the receivers) and improved play from our WRs (you can pretty much leave this on up in perpetuity). .

Would think that but Brad Banks keeps coming to mind.

Lol....love it!

I can't remember a single back (maybe Canzeri) who gets to the line of scrimmage faster than Mekhi does
I like how low he gets and still drives his legs through contact. It's easy to see how he got on the coaches radar and why he's getting reps. They're getting him involved in passing game a little too now he's strait up a legit RB. We are truly stacked with IKM coming back and Young. RB is not a position of weakness or worry. Just wish we could get them some bigger holes to get through for them to pickup some bigger chunks. I want to see them in the open field more.
