Sam Stoll Pin to Win!

Sam Stoll pinned Duece Rachal in the first period to give Iowa the win over #16 Illinois! That was tremendous! It's so good to have a healthy Sam Stoll back in the lineup! I have a lot of confidence in the team now. Cash Wilke got an overtime win at 197. Gunther, Kemerer, and Sorensen also won by decision. Iowa is now 6-0! This young team has now proven itself, and I believe that they will have a great season going forward. The next match will be at Rutgers on Friday December 8.

Stoll's hometown is just down the road from me here in MN.

Here is my question, at what weights can we compete with OSU and PSU? I'm not expecting to beat those teams, but which of our guys can realistically pick up wins?

Iowa's mid to upper weight classes are dominating this year. Even even the team does get down early Sorensen, Kemerer, Gunther, Wilcke, and Stoll can erase the deficits. Stoll and Kemerer in particular are having great seasons! Super freshman Alex Marinelli also made his debut.

Yeah, the team is kinda flip flopped from recent seasons in that the firepower balance is more towards the heavy's. At least when we get down there is legitimate reason for the heavy's to score bonus points and pull us out of a hole. Need an answer or two in the little's and we'll be a lot more competitive than we are now.

Spencer Lee might also pull his redshirt at 125. He is one of Iowa's most heralded recruits of all time. He had an injury his senior year in high school, that has been the only thing holding him back thus far.
