Rutgers, and We Think We Had QB Problems

No, I have dyslexia...seriously. Also used to be a teacher and still teach college courses. Used to be a decent speller, but I've seen so may variations and phonetically correct way of spelling that I don't know anymore. His name doesn't show up on spell check....

I know it drives some of you nuts. People saying the Pledge of Allegiance with a comma after One Nation also drives me nuts. It's One Nation Under God. Not One Nation, Under God.

Still think all of us here need counseling.
I, however, intentionally misspell KF's first name as an insult. Just wondering.

I mean, I could think of a few reasons why I'd want to intentionally misspell Ruddock's last name because he went to Michigan his senior year and didn't stay to back up CJ in 2015. Who would've been our credible backup if CJ was unable to perform for stretches in the 2015 season?

I know I've said this before, But Rutgers program is in a better position than Iowa is right now when you look with some perspective. They have a new coach with a vision and their recruiting is picking up steam and they have a new offense that uses tempo and a running quarterback while Iowa is stuck in the stone age I-formation zone blocking scheme that looks like they don't even practice the plays that they are running.

I wouldn't trade them places, even if they were in the West division. The bottom line is wins and Iowa has many more than Rutgers in football. And will have many more in the future.

There is no question that they are in way over their head right now. They are in a brutal Power 5 division with 3 blue bloods and another program that has risen up the last 8 years.
But they have proven, with the right coach, they can be a solid program in a great recruiting area. They're still getting a piece of the B1G cash cow. But they'll have to make major investments in the program or they'll be what Indiana and NW were for so long in the B1G.

The Big Ten isn't going to drop anyone in the near or mid future. Long term it may not work out for either or both Rutgers and Maryland. The Big Ten owes them complete financial backing to completely cover the costs incurred due to expansion.

I get what you are trying to say but keep in mind everything that looks new and shiny right now gets copied by 90% of everyone else. Over time it becomes old and stale also and teams get used to seeing it and preparing to beat it.

I absolutely love running the football and our running game has actually changed a little if you really watch. We ran a lot less wide stretch and more off guard/center this year. We also ran a little of that counter pitch action. Early in the season we ran some toss plays pulling Daniels the center. The point is adding some wrinkles to the base principles really works well. Teams that can run the football win a lot of games however they do it. We will have 2 1000 yard rushers for the first time in school history. How's that for outdated scheme?

What's broken as we all know is our passing offense for a variety of reasons/issues; pass blocking, receivers (no vertical threat), route trees (unwillingness to throw over the middle & no crossing routes) lack of play action/ bootlegs off the run game, and injured QB (immobile this season). It was a toxic cocktail that needs some fixing.

Yeah...the top kids in the New York area dream of playing for Rutgers. They have a great pool of talent in the area, but one visit to pretty much any other Big10 school...and you see the facilities and stadium leave alot to be desired...oh...and there's that winning thing.

Schiano actually did a really good job there. It is probably a little bit easier to win there than in Ames.
