Rumor

the stats on diabetics are something like over 50% will have another amputation within 5 years. the stress of the job i'm sure doesn't help. that, and Norm seems like a lot of my patients that they are just stubborn and don't care, even after having a previous amputation.

Football is changing and we need to change too to keep relevant with the times and the players we are trying to recruit. I see you are in the we are only Iowa camp, don't expect extended greatness.

this was all over the message boards 2006/2007.

couple years later, our coaches were the best ever, and, coincidently, won the only bcs bowl that iowa has won in your lifetime......

Now, they've forgotten everything again........

damn.

expect greatness? what are your expectations? define greatness. this staff has been in the top 10 at the end of the season 4 different times since 2002.

Mike Stoops will be a great defensive coordinator at Iowa. The problem is he might only stick around for 3-4 years, especially if he has success.

Sibling competition and another crack at a BCS conference head coaching position will be his motivation. He'll work as hard as any d-coordinator in the nation.

But losing Norm Parker would be a huge, huge blow. I'd rather have Norm Parker than Mike Stoops.

Watch special teams. That is where this stuff shows up first. And, oh yeah, don't bash Wilson. He is doing more than his fair share.

Heard this comment today attributed to Bill Romanowski who attributed it to Jeff Fisher.

Offense wins fans, defense wins games, special teams wins championships.

I was thinking perhaps it should be special teams loses championships. AKA BAMA.
I thought ST were on Wilson and Erb?

I don't know about Norm's health right now. But I would wager a large sum of money that the next Iowa DC, whenever that day comes, is NOT named Mike Stoops.

@JonMiller (wager)

Really? That confident against Mike Stoops being the next DC? Wow, lately you've normally been a little more "safe" with your predictions. Interesting! You must haves a solid source....
