Rough Night for Texas A&M

I seem to remember a certain running back who was verbally committed to Iowa, choose on signing day to suddenly sign with Michigan. And within an hour, Iowa was signing a previously unheard of RB named Eric Graham...

There's a lesson in there, somewhere... about chickens and eggs hatching, i think.

I wonder if this guy questioned his own idea of what "commitment" was when he went left Virginia Tech to go to Texas A&M?

I'm not particularly found of how kids verbal at a school to just hold a spot while they keep fishing for better offers, or different places to go. Yet I think heck professional people in every walk of life do this every single day, why the heck can't a 16, 17, 18 year old kid change his mind?

There was another running back who have verballed to Iowa and ended up switching to Wisconsin. He was a pretty good back, too. Did all right. Plays with the Chargers now.

He should have never put his comments out on social media. Then he makes it worse by not owning up to it when hes confronted by the HC.

I'd say 85% of people's decisions are driven by money. It may be higher with younger people who've never had money. College football is a business and just like the real world loyalty for the most part is a thing of the past. Once a kid gets on the team he very likely will be more loyal. I have to side with the kid on this one. If he stayed committed and didn't pan out does anybody think the coach wouldn't show him the door at colleges where football reigns. I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's of players getting shoes, a bag of groceries or a suit on the side. Now people wouldn't blink an eye at something like that but college football like everything else goes the way of the world. When I think back to when I was 18 I most likely would have gone with the best offer. I applaud KF and staff for taking the high road when situations like this come up. The coaches who respond in an immature manner are only making things worse for themselves.
