rose parade - tickets

So I see tickets to the parade are $100 - now obviously this is not your typical small town parade - but dang? Stupid questions - but do you need a ticket to go to the parade? I guess you could saunter up and watch from behind and then risk not being able to see anything - and in the whole scheme of things, what is another $100 - but just wondering if they are absolutely necessary.

I'm wondering the same thing. I heard that to make it work time wise (parade plus game) you want to be at the beginning of the parade, in which case you need tickets (unless you don't mind camping out overnight for a curb spot). I understand no need for tickets towards the end of the parade, but that might put pressure on you time wise.

gotcha -that makes sense - I guess being on the east coast - I forget how early the kickoff is at the site of the game

Yeah. Kickoff at 2pm I think. I am sure too that leaving the game back to the hotel/after-party will be hectic too. Should make for a really long day.

As a local here in Pasadena you do not need a ticket for the Parade. However you will have to be there at 12 noon new years eve day to save yourself a spot to camp out. I would suggest buying a ticket near Orange Grove and Colorado Blvd That way your not so far away from the Rose Bowl . They father away you are from Colorado and Orange Grove the harder it is to get back to Rose Bowl area.

He is correct this will be my 4th Rose Bowl, and you should buy a ticket to the parade, unless you plan on camping on the street, and get a ticket near Orange Grove and Colorado Blvd, makes it easier getting back to the Rose Bowl for the game.
