Ronnie looking for work...

Ronnie Lester is 52!! Say it ain't so!!! He is frozen in my mind as a 20 year old youngster stopping on a dime and going up for his nice floating jumper.....the best Iowa basketball player I have witnessed!

If Ronnie's interested, and he's been a great backer of the Hawkeyes since he arrived on campus as a 16-year-old freshman, then Iowa would be seriously remiss if it fails to find a place for him. Iowa needs great people, and great Hawkeyes, like Ronnie Lester. Let's hope Gary Barta is ready with an appropriate offer to bring Ronnie back to Iowa City.

Ronnie has always supported Iowa, even financially since he left. He donated $100,000 to the Carver renovation and asked that they name the training room after John Streif.

It would be cool to see him back in Iowa, but I'm not sure what role/position would be there for him.

Ditto for best and most favorite Iowa basketball player. Unreal natural talent, plus ability to lift up the game of those around him.

I'm sure he's well connected and will land on his feet.

How much longer will Jerry Strom be with Iowa? Wouldn't he be a good fit to look at taking over when Strom retires?

I would look for Strom to retire in a year or two. I understand that he didn't even know if he was going to stay on after Lickliter was fired, but Fran basically begged him to stick around a little longer.
