FWIW I've seen him play twice this year and twice last year. No idea about his ability to qualify but I know he's had off the field issues.
Notes From Dubuque Senior:
#34 - Ronald Thompson RB/LB
Looked like a D1 caliber athlete. Lot of raw power and speed. He ran awfully high most of the time I had my eyes on'm. Showed some solid burst but I didn't see much lateral agility from him.Not sure I'd project him as a RB but he's got good enough size and athleticism to play OLB at the next level. Showed some excellent closing speed and ability to shed blocks. Instincts/recognition weren't real consistent, but he looked to be ok there. D1 Caliber athlete with some issues. Probably best as an OLB, but not a bad RB prospect. Got work to do at either position.
Notes from City West
#34 Ronald Thompson RB/LB
Same issues running high. better vision this time around. Great run for 6, better patience and vision again on this run. Up high again, not driving legs on contact, leans too much for a guy with his athletic ability. Vision flashed again on 71 yard run, did get run down inside 10 though. Looked good finishing runs in red zone, stronger as time goes on. Very quick in the 2nd half still, driving through contact now, lower level of competition struggling to keep pace. Great burst after initial stop. Better COD skills than shown previously.
Workload guy, 30ish carries in the game. Little lazy with his feet at times, needs to get’m up. Tackling was fairly sound this game. Has the foot speed to run with TE's at the next level. Showed good power shedding blocks.
