The 2011 Illini are the first team in FBS history to finish 6-6 after winning their first six games. Congrats, coach!

But...but....he still has a chance to be a bowl champion!

How can you be upset with a coach after two straight bowl wins?

LOL, I was going to say...but, but, but....he's bowl eligible. MUST be a mark of a stable, respected and relevent program. He'll be around for years.

I thought winning 6 or 7 games a year was considered successful. Remember Iowa won one more game than Illinois and many here are completely satisfied. Oh that's right with 7 wins Iowa gets the podunk bowl. And those same people that are laughing because Zook will probably get fired are defending Ferentz's record. I guess it really doesn't work both ways does it. At least Zook took Illinois to the Rose Bowl, something Ferentz still can't do.

Illinois can fire Zook because they haven't given him a 10-year $4,500,000 basically lifetime contract. Iowa couldn't fire Ferentz EVEN if they wanted to. No way could Iowa buy out Ferentz's contract.

If Illinois gets a good coach, that will just put Iowa one rung lower in the B1G and Iowa will have a coaching staff that is convinced his mediocre system is the most successful in the B1G, while only getting more mediocre.
