Ron Coluzzi Wins Punter & Kickoff Jobs

He's the only punter and Mick Ellis is the only kicker. Long snapper Tyler Kluver also is going on scholarship.

That's early. Must mean he's standin out pretty good.

They need to decide soon. Whoever is the winner will then get the more focus at practice. Especially when there are SIX punters & kickers trying to win the position(s)...

I like having Coluzzi win the job. He will get a lot of kicks in. That will help some if we need a backup kicker. Although kickoffs are certainly not the same as a no tee field goal under pressure.

No to take anything away from the other kids, but I think this is good news. Punting is punting, regardless if its's the Big10 or the MAC, so his experience is huge in my opinion. It's like having a 3rd year starter there now!

Hope uer right, Nicke. Just pretend every opponent is Toledo and punt the ball really high, boy.

Might be a while before we can evaluate. Iowa will not be punting in the first 2 games.
Ha not much anyway. But your right if he only punts 2 or 3 times in those first 3 games it's pretty tough to do any evaluating on that. That said he may have more of a sample size than that. It wouldn't surprise me if they start off slow and have a few more punts than that. I just hope he does well. Having the rotating punters deal a couple years back because both weren't that good was just not a good thing...
