Rodney Coe now a OLB????

I was looking at TOS and it seems that Coe is now listed as an OLB.....and is the 6th ranked OLB in the country!!! I was hoping he would play linebacker. It sounds like he got talked to by the coaches and NFL scouts and found that he has a lot more upside at OLB. The only down side is they now list Campbell as a RB. Hoping this is just for depth and that he stays at corner. Move Hitchens back to RB and keep him at CB! Jon and Homer heard anything on this???? Does this maybe say we are confident in Rawls or another RB prospect? Or does this show the confidence in DeAndre Johnson?

and i am not a troll.....been on this site for a while but lost my username and had to make a new one. Not trying to start rumors just looking at some stuff on TOS and trying to see if anyone else has some insights here

Doesnt matter what position any player is. Iowa will use a player that signs with the program in whatever way they think fits best for the team and individual. Seen it time and time again.

you can also sign in with the email you used ;) -all the more reason to believe you are a troll. just look at Jon's sig and you will find his email, then try to get his assistance in finding your original account.

wherever he ends up fine, I trust the coaches with placing talent where it needs to be.

The OLB bit doesn't reflect where Coe was recruited at. It simply reflects where talent evaluators project him at. It also reflects that Coe performed well at the AAA bowl at the OLB spot.

Iowa recruited Coe at RB and Iowa plays a style of ball that Coe is already very comfortable with. Thus, Coe always viewed Iowa as a program that fit him like a perfectly fitting glove ... AS A RB!

The point being ... Coe is going to play at RB at Iowa ... at least unless Coe requests a position change. And, mind you, the Iowa coaches wouldn't mind AT ALL if Coe were open to a position change. I'm sure that the Iowa coaches view him as a great fit at either the LEO LB or DE spots for us.

Anyhow, the long and short of the issue is this ....

- Coe was recruited at RB at Iowa and that is where he's going to get his first shot. At this juncture, Iowa still needs RBs who are capable of contributing early ... and Coe is a guy who seems to fit that bill.
- IF the AAA-bowl made Coe more open to a possible future position change to the D ... that simply is good news to Iowa fans, but nothing more. He's likely needed more initially at RB.

Yes but are the coaches now seeing RB as a non NEED? seems weird for this sudden change in positions

Just because it is what site projects them at doesn't mean that's what Iowa recruited them at or they're going to play.

Brett Morse was a QB on scout
Edds a TE
Gallery a TE
Campbell a RB

Don't go by the sites. That really doesn't matter anyway.
