Rittenberg weighs in on KF

Now that or those are coherent thoughts and echoed by many Hawk fans. This year's D is totally disposable not able to stop anyone. Look no one is going to fire By God Norm Parker it would be a low class move to do it. If he decides to step down Stoops would be an obvious gotta have em.

The thing that bothers and concerns me most about this, is that it seems like Ferentz isn't all that concerned that we lost to Minnesota (possibly one of thee worst BCS conference teams in years after it's all said and done) because "that's football" and they just had a couple of tough games. Sorry, but take your head out of your a$$, Kirk. That's not "a couple tough games". That's a team that blows and shouldn't be any where near being able to compete evenly with your team. Take some accountability, Kirk, and show some urgency please. Cripes!

I'm sure he's a lot more bothered than he's letting on in the media.

Just like we rarely see when KF is super pleased with a win (at least in pressers), we rarely see when KF is super ****** off with a loss. I'm sure it's tougher on him, and the team, than any of us can imagine. Just because he isn't saying it, doesn't mean it isn't the case.

Funny thing is in front of the press he usually says he doesn't pay attention to all that stuff and he lets the press guys tell him...then out of the other side of his mouth he notices things like the 2 point loss to USC. KF what the HELL does that have to do with the price of tea in CHINA! I agree pull your head out! We've lost to one of the WORST D1 teams in AMerica over the past 2 years and we lost 2 straight.

I suppose it's more about him not being more apologetic about the loss and realizing that it's an embarrassment (at least he's not showing or saying that). I guess I expect him to acknowledge that it's a huge disappointment and isn't acceptable, but instead he shrugs it off and says, "that's football", while trying to prove some kind of point that Minnesota isn't that bad and just had "a couple tough games". I understand the need for coach speak, but c'mon! Minnesota is BAD.

Agreed

Sorry I think you're wrong and Kirk has about 4 million reasons to prove it. He's complacent because he can be.

Agreed and now we are changing kids positions and all kinds of nonsense..he's just grasping at straws right now. Now if next year turns out to be a .500 or sub .500 season then we absolutely need to start asking him WTH dude you are making like $4M plus bonuses get your stuff together or get to steppin.

It certainly appears that way, but I got to believe that isn't at all the case. He does though put up a great front.

Kirks the clown with the wand. As much as I thought I couldn't stand ken I heard Randy from the dmr recall a story about him and ken in a elevator recounting the naked bootleg. Ken winked at Randy and said no that was coaches call. Kirk is the clown running the ship in the ground... Over and over and over again and we pay him $3 mil to do so

Kirk is a leader, he won't act like Pelini and get ****** at reporters. I totally believe he cares more than anyone of us will ever know. I believe he is a good man, and a good man would care. and... he is not complacent (IMO).

Is this story on espn going to further hurt recruiting or make it relevant? i am terrified that KF may be pushed out or leave. I was extememly upset after Saturdays loss, still am. Like many have said, KF keeps it close to his chest with his emotions and it does suck that we are stuck in mediocrity (sp?). Without Fry or Ferentz we would be Iowa State. I am extremely grateful to have Ferentz. IF Ferentz decided to go it would be because he chooses too I hope. IF that were to happen then it would be nice to see if Urban Meyer or Gruden would be interested but thats a pipe dream. Yes, i doubted Ferentz Saturday, but I was emotional. I have missed 4 games in KFs tenure (stupid weddings-good news though is everyone I know is now married) and I do believe this is the worst loss. Iowa can and will turn the corner and be a powerhouse. we are limited with recruiting/appeal. remember, tom osborn did not win a national championship until like his 19th season. give Ferentz some time. TO had a walk through schedule in the big8, not the B1G like we do. we will turn the corner. stay positive, support your team. IF mike stoops is considered i only hope and pray it is for def coor position and nothing more, but phil parker is in the waiting and he brings more blitz packages as we saw last year. we will recover from this with a vengence. On Iowa! Go Hawks!

His excuses are like a fan in denial. "Well they almost beat USC", yeah great Kirk. At least they WON! WTF happened to beating Minn 55-0, huh?

He definitely feels the loss. Any time the program is down, he acts stoic, but if you think back, whenever we get a big play to break out of it or get a big win to pull out of it, he gets visibly emotional, almost to tears, for a moment on the sideline. He cares.
